Metal is still good... Those are actual musicians, who learn how to play instruments and write their own songs. But the reason I know most music is shit compared to what it was is... I've always liked metal best, but always listened to 80's/90's pop/rap/whatever. I can't do that anymore 95% of the time. I can listen to any genre if it's musical, too bad most stuff I hear lately, I would not consider music.
I think you should only be able to cover some other GOOD band's music, if you've proven yourself first. People nowadays are getting popular off of cover songs and it's disgusting. They're not even good cover songs.
Where's Debbie Gibson when we need her.
Only thing that bugs me about a lot of music these days is how heavily software-mixed they are. I prefer my music to actually be something that's possible to be done as a live performance without needing 30+ members to cover all the instruments.
Could anyone suggest good underground music? I'm looking for original styles not 80's and 90's style of music played by a different band now.
I'm not gonna vote yes because I'm old and way out of the loop, but I haven't heard completely original music since the 90's. It's gotta be out there.
black music sucks
edit:
saw something i agree with. all these new songs are soooooooooooooooooooooooo edited they can't even perform them live and when they do you realize just how horrible they really are.
I thought the thong song was bad. I haven't really listened to the radio in about ... 8-9 years really. I was in the car with my girlfriend and she was flipping through the stations... what the fuck is da stanky leg, kiss me through the phone, you so 2000 and late? It makes me miss Three 6 mafia that much more. Dr Seuss has more lyrical genius than these clowns.

I'm sorry, but you're a fucking idiot, then again, there are always posters on the internet who are white-trash, racially-bound dipshits anyways. Oh well what can you do, maybe you should look at the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and look at how many black artist there are currently on this week's chart. I think it's the most amount of black artists I've seen in the top 10 all at once, haha. Also, black music of the past, is what created the foundation of most music today, except for country music.
I also dont see anything wrong with artists sampling things from old hit songs to make bigger hits/money. Most of the time, when new artists sample old songs, the original artists usually give approval, and are flattered by the results, unless the producer didn't ask the original artist for approval. This is America, not some communist shithole.
LOL @ Ban and name change...
I would venture to say the rap gurus of the past would not approve of this new nonsense. Hip hop IS dead.
I don't necessarily think music sucks more now than it used too as much as music changes with the times and it doesn't match your tastes or isn't directed at your age group anymore. I'm only 21 and I honestly think I already hit the point where I don't much like new music coming out anymore it seems. There's an occasional song here or there I like but most of it is more like noise than music to me. I've given up on radio completely.
Trying to argue that more "black music" is on the chart then I guess "white music"? Is like saying your shit stinks less(or stinks more considering how you look at it). In the end it still fucking stinks and I feel more retarded after listening to it. Old school hip-hop/rap may have laid the foundation for music of today but I'm pretty sure music of today completely destroyed those foundations and pissed on the rubble.
I beg to differ. With the disbanding of Jurassic 5, Hip Hop took a step backwards, that's for sure (Portable Payback is around with a couple of the original members). With artists like Dilated Peoples, J-Live, Freestyle Fellowship, Somobe, Mos Def and Talib Kweli, there is still hope for that genre.
The fathers of rap and hip hop are probably most upset with how that industry has changed in the past 20 years though.
edit: guess I should clarify that I'm talking about underground hip hop, the garbage they play on the radio is just.......garbage >.>
