I am reading the question as if waterboarding means something like surfing on the back of another human towards a pirate ship, maybe a terrorist. The answer is yes.
Yes

In a specific life or death situation I'd gut a mother fucker, but public policy is different.
In no way am I pretending to be tough.
Interesting concept. Seems to be a very efficient means of interrogation. I can see why it works, from a purely psychological stand point of having moisture on your face, the inability (or feeling of, atleast) to breathe and being constrained... All these will have a serious impact on the mindset of an individual (particularly if done against their will).
Can't say it's something I'd do for shits and giggles though.
I agree. I read the question as "Would I waterboard somebody if they were withholdiing info of a loved one and if not extracted soon enough they would die". I would absolutely waterboard the crap out of them. I doubt I'd even think of waterboarding as I'd skip over that step and start shooting kneecaps off. If I was only 50% sure they had that info, I'd still waterboard them without any second thought.
I read it as a troll question. So the answer is 42.
What kind of situation would you KNOW that waterboarding would supply the solution?
Are you talking about me supporting a company or a person doing it?
How exactly did this situation get to the place where your loved one would die like this? Why didn't you stop him or her from getting into this mess? How could you have used non-violent tactics to have prevented this in the first place instead of having to use torture?
My roomate was doing a paper about torture camps, and he was talking about water boarding.....the fucking guy wanted to try what it actually felt like, do we went out on the balcony and water boarded him. He said it felt like he was actually drowning, but w/o actually being drowned. Crazy shit.
Well, people in Military training (SEAR, Mount, SEALS, USMC, SF, Berets) are treated in my opinion worse than these terrorists are treated. I also feel their training is more intense and could be considered torture as well.
Waterboarding as it stands isn't torture; however, the US under the Constitution itself considers all of these people we've captured no matter what and we have them as our prisoner, they are covered by what our Constitution is and stands for.
I'd sure as hell waterboard though, they won't die from it and if it gets information and it's good information then go go go. Hooking people up to batteries and jolting the shit out of them is wicked different. I think if theres a good chance of death = torture.
Chance of death is not what makes torture, torture.
No no guys, unlike regular torture which actually makes information recieved LESS reliable, waterboarding only gives 100% truthful information.
Didnt you guys get the memo?
Watching Glenn Beck isn't going to kill me.
But it sure feels like torture.
