Shooters; L/R handed, eye dominance

Right hand Left Eye. I shoot Right/right though, so it doesn't matter. Fuck eye dominance.

Seems like I'm left eye dominant trying some of the above and right-handed. I'm kind of worried a little, though, since over the past year or so my left eye would just like to start twitching. It was operated on when I was way younger for lazy eye, but when I mentioned this to the optometrist that was working with me in getting new glasses a while back, she just kinda blew it off as nothing and said my prescription had changed. Also learned I had astigmatism in the eye since up until that point my mom had handled my eye appointments and I'd been running on the same pair of glasses for like 7 years. Self-diagnosis has me assuming it's just eye strain, but even when I tried not using a computer and such for a week, it didn't seem to help.

I'm an ambidextrous shooter, so I can't vote any of those options. I'm right-handed when it comes to everything else, though.... curious enough unless I focus I'm also left-eye dominant as my right eye has worse vision.

I've learned to shoot pistols with both eyes open. Just focus on the front sight. It's second nature now. I think that's the proper technique anyway.

Rifles I have to close my left eye. It's too awkward for me any other way.

Right handed, right eye. I was left handed as a kid, but my school forced me to learn to write right handed (as well as play sports that way.) I "do" everything right handed, but I'll sometimes switch to left and not realize it at all, nor do my skills in whatever diminish much.

I guess I'm sorta ambidextrous though I favor my right hand.

This is the exact same story for me. When I was little I was completely ambidextrous but I was told to choose a hand now I can do most things with both hands except for writing which I can only do with my right hand.

i'm completely ambidextrous. i can write, throw, bat, golf, whack off, wii bowling...whatever, with either hand. i shot both ways in the army, and still do now. i used to mess with people at the range after letting them see me shoot right handed, that i could beat them lefty...won a decent amount of ammo that way. lol

Whoa this whole make a box in with your fingers and focus on something far away thing is crazy. It always bugged the hell out of me when I'd put a hat on and it felt like more of the bill was above my left eye than my right, but looking in the mirror would prove me wrong. Glad to know it's not just me and I don't have some weird deficiency in my right eye.
I don't think I've ever shot a gun and paid attention to which way I shoot, but I'm right handed at everything and left eye dominant.

On another note, my dad and me have always had perfect eyesight (like, could read every line on those eyecharts and the small print at the bottom) but my mom and both sisters have needed glasses their whole lives. Weird how that works out.

With my ak47 I have taught myself to use both eyes.. it is kind of weird but I think it is worth it.
