Xbox360 controller on PC

I have searched for and read the last five links and I'm still stuck. I just want to be able to use my Xbox 360 controller on my PC and be able to use the trigger buttons as well.


I have installed, XBCD Version 1.07, XBCD Installer 0.2.6 No links work on Xbcd 360 Install Guide, so don't suggest going there.

I get stuck at this spot:

Device Manager > Xbox360 Peripherals> Xbox360 Controller > Update Driver...
Then I check in 'Install from a list or specific location'. Then I check in 'Don't search, I will choose the driver to install'. Click next and then in the box it says 'Unable to find any drivers for this device'. Shouldn't it have the XBCD Driver that I just installed?

Also, when I go to programs > XBCD > XBCD Utility, Device is blank. I hit refresh and stays blank. I click Windows tab and its all grayed out and I can't mess around with the settings. Guessing this would be corrected if I get my first problem fixed.

Can someone please help give step by step information on how to fix this? If you need any more info please say so and I'll try to explain it better.

make sure you turned off driver signing protection and are installing as Admin acount.

right click on My Computer, select manage.. then hardware tab. under drivers select driver signing. Choose Ignore.

Right Click My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Driver Signing
Above was the correct path to get there. I have Ignore marked now. I go to Device Manager > Xbox360 Controller > Update Driver > Install from a list...(Advanced) > Don't Search, I'll choose the driver to install and still it says "Unable to find any drivers for this device"

You need to take a look at this guys guide, it got mine working with triggers and rumble in ffxi. Edit: im using XBCD v1.07

I've downloaded the guide before and it doesn't get me past the problem I have. I try to update driver but always get "Unable to find any drivers for this device" message.

I had exactly the same problem and gave up after a while.
Whenever i tried to configure manually they would not show up in the list and the system would not recognize those drivers suited for the MS pad, thus giving me the "unable to find" mesasage.
Using the MS drivers now. I assigned the macros to the LB/RB buttons and autorun to Start, since i would never use the Start button to log out anyway.
