Well, short story - he took off with 2 ls banks - Dimensional Death (sky/sea/misc) and Hecatomb Wave (lolshout dynamis).

After a couple weeks of a bogus line about being locked outa game over security token issues, he posted a huge story on how he was quitting FFXI because SE made a fail game and he was sick of people not showing up and not posting. He stated that the ls banks didn't belong to any one person and there was no fair way to split so, cya.....

This obviously prompted negative responses from members, therefore, he shut down the website the very next day

The truth - 3/5 leaders had quit the the sky/sea/misc shell about 1-2 months prior because of his dictatorship style and general lack of respect for people. This made him actually have to show up for events and do some work which took time away from the game he is currently more interested in - WoW.

It is strongly suspected that he will be back to FFXI when he gets tired of whatever other game (he has gone back and forth between games several times) and will show up on another server with the gil that many others worked so hard to make. Quitting the game is one thing, taking the gil with you is another.

Moral of the story - never join a shell and invest time in a linkshell were just one person has control of the bank and website. Our bad >.<

OT: Yeah, it's a shitty thing to screw over multiple people when you take into account that they invested real time in it but it's too late now I suppose ^^;

I'm not gonna go into detail about what really happened, or really rag on the fact that there was never anyone named "Temperance" in DD. I personally find it absolutely hillarious that this ended up reaching the hive of FFXI Drama that is BG. I wouldn't have even found this had a friend not pointed me here.

So, like I said "Sweet, I have my own thread." I can add this to the list of things I was called on my own forums, including but not limited to: a liar, a thief, a generally bad person(oh noes) and a womanizer.

Oh, I didn't steal anything. I just decided to skip the potential drama of people bickering over how much they'd have gotten. Apparently, though, people are so butt-hurt over some virtual numbers that they feel the need to go crybaby over the internet, re-posting my goodbye note from my forums and throw out wild accusations, ignoring the facts, skewing the facts, etc to the point where they look like some sort of hero burning the witch at the stake.

But, yanno, this is BG, so I'm expecting more people to come try to tear this shit apart, yadda yadda. Say what you will, my account is gone. lol That's not gonna change. :D

apparently you cared enough about those virtual numbers to break ties with everyone you knew in this game. The defense of, "it's just a game lulz," is and has always been just a way to rationalize your actions. You, who probably just sold his account/gil, should know that even virtual goods have value. You just announced to everyone on BG and on your server that you are completely immoral, untrustworthy, and a terrible friend. The people you played with over the internet are still people. Yeah, yeah, "lol i quit i don't care," but guess what your morals on the internet often transfer over in real life. I'm willing to bet you're a greedy, selfish asshole who's a horrible friend. The sooner you realize this the better for you, or you can keep telling yourself you're not a shitty human being. Whatever helps you sleep at night

There are always going to be people who are hurt over any decision you make in cases like this. There are those who understand why I did what I did, those who are butt-hurt, and those who would have attacked me regardless of my decision.

Yes, actually. Because regardless of the decision I made, like I said, people were going to bicker and attack me. Regardless of who said what, whether or not I got control of my account back from that stupid token messing up, whether I quit or keep playing -- people are going to complain about the bank this, the bank that.

Those people who cry about it the loudest care only about their wallets. Their greed shows through. And unfortunately, the FFXI community as a whole tend to only care about their precious numbers. Be it gil, damage, kill counts, gear, etc. Why would I give the gil out to people like that? Why would I work to only feed people what they want. It wasn't a split decision, and I was prepared for the backlash it would cause. I knew that bridges would be burnt -- but honestly? None of the people(outside of the unnamed OP) have any remote idea of what happened. And the OP is wrong anyway.

The rest of you are making your claims and comments against armed with baseless conjecture. Or pre-conceived notions about who I might or might not be.

Izzy, you mentioned ShirtNinjas in this post. Which is funny. Because I haven't associated with them in years(other than the fact that most of the people in SNLS and I don't get along and they can drop off a cliff for what I care). So, you came into this thread armed with that.
