I have a odd idea to test this if you like. Basics of this would be:

    1. Mana Converter is always used before Economizer, at least in my experience.
    2. The Puppet obviously will cure you with severely low HP.

    Idea is this:

Nuke your own personal HP down to red and Summon VE outside of town with Mana Tank equipped to give the puppet minimal MP. Zone into town and swap the VE frame out for the Soulsoother equipping Economizer, Mana Converter, Damage Gauge, Flahbulb, and Tact. Processor. Upon zoning out the Puppet should have a minimal amount of MP, roughly a Cure 1 worth. Or if you would rather you can just have the Puppet drain its MP in combat but that would take a bit longer.

Personally I think performing this test as 40+ RDM/PUP would be the easiest route for nuking your own HP but it could be done with taking damage or poisoning yourself as PUP main. For Maneuvers I'd do [Dark Ice Light] and [Dark Light] sets. Will need to do both sets with the Tact. Pro equipped and unfortunately you're going to have to reset the Puppets MP back to minimal to perform each maneuver set.

I'd make sure to have hate on the mob by pulling it with sleep or something similar as I'm not entirely certain if your personal hate level will have a effect on the Puppet. Deploy the SS from a distance on the mob and see what the little guy decides to do. Effectively this should overwhelm the Automaton with a ton of things to do:

*Note these are not in any assumed order*
    1. Cure 1 Master
    2. Flash Monster
    3 Use Convert
    4. Use Economizer
    5. Enfeeble Monster
    6. Decide to move into melee range or stay at distance based upon the action order it takes.

After performing the two maneuver sets with Tact. Pro and observing the Automatons actions, I would repeat the test without the Tact. Pro but replicating the same circumstances. I'd help you test this but I'm away from FFXI for awhile and the idea came to me over luncheon today.

That's a good idea, confuse the shit out of the little guy and see what it does while "stressed out".

Doesn't Role Reversal like hurt you to heal them... or something?

Or is it just Enm swap, I forget.

Incidentally, this is why I'd be a bad Pup... I'd enjoy torturing my puppet trying to break it's AI far too much.

It's my death warp job of choice for a reason, sending my tardbot out to bravely whack a lvl 70~ mob is amusing.

It can yes, or it can hurt the Puppet, it is a complete HP swap. Ventriloquy is the Enm. swap.

Something just dawned on me too... Has anyone ever tested the Automaton with this part equipped while in the Overloaded state? Maybe it does something stupidly simple like negating part of the slow/weight added to Overload. Seems like that would have been addressed by someone but I can't remember seeing it off the top of my head. I also see no mention of Automaton ability recasts while Overloaded but I understand that would be hard to check.

Yeah I've been using Timestamp and trying to follow "decision making". Honestly, it's been pretty frustrating. The biggest thing is seeing something i think is a result and trying to replicate it. I basically keep a consistent maneuver setup, do a few fights, and then look at the log and start looking at the time in between moves with and without Tactical Processor. It's hard finding consistent differences.

Orden says "Keep it up!" I am loviing this thread and eager to see where it leads. I think it is already a success due to finally finding out what tact. processor does, are at least part of it! I think I will try it with VE later~

Whatever you do don't do so much you get burned out on it, I suggest pulling it back a little and just keep a running data set while you go about your normal routine, switch it off and on and just keep collecting, my guess is that this sort of correlation will require a huge data set.

Yeah, I only need about 9 organs and I've been rotating between attachments and trying to just change the addition of TactProc with TimeStamp on and see what the differences are.

    Can someone give me a layman's tl;dr?

I'm starting to develop a passive interest in PUP.

Thought you said passive interest in men for a second... then I saw you said pup... I'm not sure what's worse.

It's still in the testing phase, but it looks like Tac processor might make the auto prioritize erasing you in situations where it would normally prefer to pick it's nose. Could have other effects for different frames.

Could it do anything like make it prioritize a lvl 3 SC without the "forcing" maneuvers required to get the desired WS?
