Breakcrafting with 7th Anniversery upgrade?

Recently SE announced the details for the upcoming event, and one of them was listed as:
""Artisan's Advantage"!
Good news for aspiring artisans, kupo! The chance of your ingredients being lost in a failed synthesis attempt have been drastically reduced!"

Does breakcrafting still work (I took a year+ break from crafting) and if so, just to confirm what I remember, is it be within 5 of main craft cap for failure skillups but 10-15 levels below on a subcraft?

If this is still true, I'm pretty pumped for this, as it means I can speed level through a better part of the 90's Woodworking, abusing my 8 Goldsmithing (Star Globe GS cap is 23) and Smithing 27 (I can level it within 15 of whatever I need).

While I doubt this is a possibility, it would be kinda funny to be able to break synth without the possibility of loosing mats. 91-99 cursed haidate go!

Don't get your hopes up. Moghancement: <Element> synthesis or Moglification doesn't really do that much despite that the description claims.

It will probably end up being only on lower level stuff that is cheap to craft anyways and be just as useful as the latent weapons. LoL

Semi derail but related to breaks..I don't think it is appropriate to start a new thread so here it goes.

I wonder if it was just my superstitions but I got more material loss during breaks after the update but then added a signet and they went away. It was so bad and unusual that I was about to ask a GM if any other people reported a bug. My breaks losses are much better now, thank (Altana?). I know signet only applies to some of the kupofried's bonuses but yeah, does not hurt me one bit to have a signet on anyway.

I am currently crunching to get as much synthing skillups in as possible during the full bonus time period, since they will be random after the anniversary special is over.

I didn't notice much break differences. I've busted 3 synthesis so far since the event started, and I've lost 1 of 2 materials on 2 of the synthesis, and the third was a one ingredient synthesis and I didn't lose anything. Not a big test, but 2/5 total materials lost over 3 breaks.

Agreed, SE needs to learn the meaning of words like drastic.
