I don't think anyone really disagrees with banning convicted criminals, but some of these people are being banned simply because of their views. It's only a matter of time before citizens are kicked out for their views.

Is it illegal to serve rare meat in Britain yet? Own unlicensed baseball bats?

Yeah let's just comingle the credibility of a historically unpopular executive with the entire electorate.

That's a good way to reach an understanding on topics of any gravity.

    GJ Kuya, A+ trolling.

The electorate that elected the same executive twice? The electorate where nearly half don't want to investigate what said executive did? The electorate that thinks what Britain is doing is AWFUL, but seems to forget that they do it all the time?

    What an electorate!

edit: i realize i'm being flippant and am generalizing, but when i see the same person who glibly went on in a thread about the US's torturing that NOTHING CAN BE DONE, and then watching him go on about how AWFUL the things Britain is doing are, just really gets under your skin. Plus, Correction, you're a twit.

The same electorate when, if asked plainly if they supported the 'no-fly list' as a device to keep politically unpopular views out of America would likely say 'fuck that!'

What an active imagination you seem to have.

Care to post the poll? I haven't seen it, and by the way, if you think that the "no fly list" and the torturing are absolutely wrong and should be investigated, then hats off to you! You're definitely more scrupulous than most, for now.

Good thing I do everything for the sake of Puerto Rico's approval.

who says that because i criticize other countries doesn't mean I don't have any for my own country? The real irony here is that I'm studying abroad in china in the fall. If I join the communist party while I'm there, will there be an repercussions back in the USA? >.>

By the way, Correction, was there something you substantially disagreed with in my original post, or did you think it would be fun if you went right for the glib comment whilst paradoxically claiming it's a troll post and picking out the only part in the post that perhaps only someone as oblivious as shihei would take seriously? Don't worry i already know the answer, which is you need my attention. Well, i won't disappoint, now that i'm not a mod, i'm perfectly able to cater to your every whim.

China has money and nukes, so that's not going to happen.

When my own father beats me, that means I can't say other people's families are bad right?
If that's the case, then you didn't make it clear enough the last time, so i apologize.

I don't agree with this, just like I don't agree with the US banning Cat Stevens and others, but I can't help but laugh because those are terrible people getting rl bans.

Vigilia does make a fair point about a variety of people being denied visas, which is in practice the same thing. what makes this different is the bold statement that goes along with it.

I think it would be acceptable to do so when you're trying to keep someone involved in War crimes and human rights abuses out, in order to make a political point that these persons should be in jail and not free. However, the people who would commit War crimes and human rights abuses are likely to be officials from some government institution...

It's pretty funny because I started kicking myself seeing you say stuff I agreed to

The concept is nice but the execution is horrible. If the government decides pokeman talk incites violence and can ban 10 year olds, sure people who hate pokeman will rejoice but the reality is basic civil rights should not be banned nor denied entry regardless of their popularity.

I'm a big fan of the UK don't get me wrong, but this move is a little rough.

US talkshow host to sue Jacqui Smith over ban from Britain - Telegraph

Now the shit head wants to sue, and as a United Kingdom tax payer id like to tell him to go get fucked and crawl back under whichever stone he came from under.

Although this appears to be the mans only retort besides childish insult whenever anyone criticizes him or sticks the boot in.

Freedom of expression comes with the responsibility to not incite hatred. By exercising their 'right' to be homophobic, racist, anti-semitic and anti-islamic these people are infringing those group's rights to not be subject to harrassment or violence - which I see as being more important than expression. I'm all in favour of banning extremists from entering the UK. This is the same reason I'm happy with extremist marches being banned.

Edit: Oh no! The Home Secretary of England is being sued.

have some of you ever listened to a savage show before? I know he is a bit extreme sometimes, but he never tries to incite violence or anything - nor hints at it. He simply calls it how he sees it. Pretty sad people can't say they don't like a group of people in the UK, no matter how ignorant it is.
