Then you brainfart and go down the pub.

Seriously, is "Keep the good, discard the bad" a hard concept? I never understood the fuss caused when it comes to applying the principle to people on a large scale.

No one blinks when the troublemaker at work gets fired but when the radical encouraging violence is refused entry into the country out comes the outrage.

Who are to judge what's good and what's bad?

Boss is a terrible analogy for government.

Seems like common sense on the judgement here. Ex head of the KKK, Neo-Nazi's, Radical Clerics, Jewish and Muslim Extremists, seem's like common sense not to let these people into the country really. They played some clips from that Savage show on the radio yesterday and he really does sound like a horrible cunt. I could just see little drops of spittle flying out of his mouth (can't be too careful with the swine flu :D) as he was screaming about how 2 women getting married makes him sick and that people should go up to Muslims in the supermarket and "show them what you think". Makes a nice change to actually agree with something Brown's Labour has done.

Foreigners should be thankful we don't really wish to kill them, as turning it the other way around, in the case of:

British teacher faces lashes in Sudan after class teddy bear is named 'Muhammad' - Times Online

Just thank fuck we don't rage over something as petty as this. British food places are somewhat required to serve halal meat in their resturants, but I dare say they won't cater to a Britain's taste/culture in countries where pork is considered "bad". (Noooo my bacon!) <--- assumptions slightly here, I never been abroad so I wouldn't know, but the agonising thought of no bacon?

Oh, as for not letting certain people in the country, isn't one of the guys on the list that dude with a hook on his hand? He preaches to people here and gets them to hate on the British and stuff... and brainwashes, especially the younger ones, into taking revenge, and stuff. I think for a period of time the UK were helpless in doing anything about him.

I dunno, maybe it's the European in me but I applaud them not allowing people like Phelps into the country. I don't think it should encompass just anyone. Free Speech is great but if you're encouraging people to commit violent acts and be hateful towards other people then honestly you don't have a right to speak.

I don't agree with him, but that's not why I think this way. I don't like immigration but I don't think we should just turn Mexicans away just because a few are drug lords.

I'm not in favor of terrorists, but I think they of all people have no right to be anywhere if all they're going to do is try to spread hate instead of keep their opinion to themselves.

Free speech is great and all, but that doesn't mean you get to use it to spread hate and bigotry.

The best thing about free speech is you are free to suffer the consequences of what you say. In this case its Britain telling you fuck off lol.

Savage is pretty much a radical cleric of the American Fringe-Right (Closet Homos).

As for our heritage? Our heritage is fighting Hitler for several years before Team USA could be fucked to get involved. Our heritage is persuading the pilgrim fathers that idiots like you should gtfo.

Fine call me racist if you want, whatever gets you off. Some people who come here are the most hard working professional people you could ever meet. Some however come here just to leech off the fucked up benefits system. Perhaps them and the British leeches should be kicked out then we can get some more hard working immigrants.

ps Any country want Gordon Brown and co, we dont want them either

The man was Abu Hamza, dude has his hand blown off by a land mine somewhere. Basicly he couldn't be deported because the country he was from (Sudan I think) would prosecute him for crimes he had commited there and he would be tortured should he return. He lived in a 7 bedroom mansion for free as he had 6 children and was claiming disability benefits for missing his hand and an eye, while at the same time giving lolsermons about how the UK and English people where evil and that UK muslims should rise up and kill whitey. Eventually an agreement was made between the UK and the Sudan government that he wouldn't be tortured and his arse got booted the fuck out.

And then he was probably tortured.

Just think if he hadn't been documented on tape telling people to go out an kill people like me, or hadn't fled from his own country after killing people, then he wouldn't have even had to worry about it.

So this entire thread no one bothered to mention that the OP spelled the country name wrong? I'm disappointed, Shue.

If you have to face consequences for speaking your mind, then it's not free speech. That'd be like saying "Yes you have the freedom of religion, but if you're a Christian you will be arrested".

So people should be able to say whatever they like and expect no repercussions what-so-ever? Seems like a that's a somewhat naive and idealistic view to take on human nature. Actions = Consequences in everything in life. If I was to stand in Washington D.C and start shouting for people to try and kill the president because his head looks like a Mr Potato Head you think there wouldn't be consequences for those actions?

People should be allowed to say whatever they like and expect no repercussins what-so-ever from the government. If someone is ranting about things you don't agree with in your house, then by all means kick them out, and that's a consequence I can agree with...but the government deciding what people can and cannot say by limiting free speech is the first step in complete control over people. There's obvious exceptions to this which I thought would go without saying (the ever so popular shouting fire in a crowded theater example, telling people you're going to kill the president, etc.), but those are already illegal because they can directly lead to someone getting harmed. And there's a definite difference between hateful, anti-gay/muslim/government/whatever speech and actually organizing people to follow up on those ideas. The latter is rightfully illegal.
