For those of you who've done the audio books, do you wish Melisandre's voice was more like Roy Dotrice's version of her voice?
lol @ hot pie still being around. "they're gonna take us back and put rats in us!"
HOT PIE! HOT PI- (Sword in gut)
Hot Pie shall sit the Iron Throne
I hadn't seen this linked before and it is preeeetty awesome: http://www.direct.tv/thekingsroadmap/
Interactive map that jumps to locations and gives recaps of events in each episode, seems very handy for a non-reader to keep everything together. Noticed they misspelled "Bolton" as "Bolden", but otherwise it seems super polished.
as for the episode
Spoiler: show
I found the Tryion+Shae scene to be painful to watch, I really hate the TV Shae.
Book Shae isn't much better
Oh man, I didn't think it could get worse but after hearing the audio books.. man she was fucking harsh.
book 1 spoilar
Spoiler: show
I am only in the middle of the first book but I definitely knew that sounded made up. I could never believe those lies that came out of her mouth, about her praying for him to live.. after she prayed for him to die lol.
I did kind of yell bullshit at my tv during that..... her and Shae both being humanized.
almost as though, they were human
nah i didn't really like the scene either but again if you can't understand Catelyn's dislike of Jon you are a retarded person
and i hate everything about tv Shae but that may just be because her actress is almost unimaginably horrible
in A Storm of Swords Tyrion comments on the three distinct types of Dornishmen, Salty Dornishmen who are olive and have long black hair, Sandy Dornishmen totally brown brownos the darkest of the Dornishmen, and Stony Dornishmen who mostly just have Andal blood and look like the other bros from all the other Andal kings
always imagined Dornishmen as close to Spaniards, darker than other Europeans on account of the climate + immigration crafting something of a biracial society (Arabs/Rhoynars)
no i feel very badly for Jon in that scene as well and he is a saint to lie to Robb and say Catelyn treated him nicely
but he mentions that was the first time Catelyn ever directly addressed him so it's not like she was a super abusive 'stepmom' his entire life, her insane grief over Bran made her abnormally (and irrationally, 'it should have been you' makes no sense in the context) cruel to him.
i just think it's silly people hate her for it
if my brand new bride came back to our house with some other guy's son
i'd be p mad
divorce / kill a bitch mad
wouldn't be all, oh hay come here little bastard baby i shall raise and love u
but i am glad you are liking the book
Inb4 Spanish Latinos again
I don't hate her, I said I hated that particular line, and I thought it was fucking harsh considering the situation.
and well there is that interesting theory about Jon which would make that all retarded if it's true.
