When he tried to see Bran, she threatened to call for the guards, didn't want to hear anything from a bastard, etc. But after he paid his respects.. poured his heart out to his little brother, she had to go and open her cunt mouth again, only to tell him it should had been him

I am only in the middle of the first book but I definitely knew that sounded made up. I could never believe those lies that came out of her mouth, about her praying for him to live.. after she prayed for him to die lol.

in A Storm of Swords Tyrion comments on the three distinct types of Dornishmen, Salty Dornishmen who are olive and have long black hair, Sandy Dornishmen totally brown brownos the darkest of the Dornishmen, and Stony Dornishmen who mostly just have Andal blood and look like the other bros from all the other Andal kings

always imagined Dornishmen as close to Spaniards, darker than other Europeans on account of the climate + immigration crafting something of a biracial society (Arabs/Rhoynars)

Nothing difficult to understand here, but it's not like it was Jon's fault he was born. That last thing she said to him was just really messed up and uncalled for. So many things are different, I am loving it.

but he mentions that was the first time Catelyn ever directly addressed him so it's not like she was a super abusive 'stepmom' his entire life, her insane grief over Bran made her abnormally (and irrationally, 'it should have been you' makes no sense in the context) cruel to him.

i just think it's silly people hate her for it

About him being born from Lyanna and Rhaegar, it would make sense for Ned to get angry when asked about it, and now no one will ever know because it's a secret he died with.

aye, but Ned's secrecy actually makes it worse for Catelyn. she views it as him loving the other woman, who everyone believes to be Ashara Dayne, so much that he cherishes their son always and refuses to even speak of it to Catelyn, entirely disregarding her own feelings for the memory of his dead love

Ned acted honorably to keep his sister's secret, the sister he loved above all others in the world, but in doing so he caused both Catelyn and Jon great pain. yet by doing so he protected Jon's life as Robert Baratheon likely would have killed the child given his hatred for Targaryens had Jon's parentage become public

but that's what i love about Martin, with regards to Jon, Lyanna-Rhagaer-Robert-Catelyn-Eddard, they all seem decent people, they all act as best they can, yet they hurt and decieve and betray one another without any of them being outright villains.
