I haven't read book 5 yet so I don't know if this stuff happens in that book, but the Theon stuff was brutal. I almost felt bad for him after his heart felt speech

I actually felt sad for him when he said "My real father lost his head in kings' landing." Also the look on Ramsey's face gave more of a psychopath than a sadistic SOB.

As mentioned multiple times, the sacking of Astapor was handled very well. Queen of thorns was a boss.

They're probably going to do Sam the Slayer next week or the one after, as they were running away from Craster's it was getting dark and I'm gonna assume that an Other is going to come for the baby as they're running. He'll protect Gilly and the baby like a boss. Hopefully Grenn will show up w/ the other guy (name eludes me, Thornwood?) and they'll go from there.

I just love the writing for the "smart" characters. It's the reason Tyrion/Tywin's scenes are so good - they are both brilliant but use it in different ways. Tyrion uses humor while Tywin cuts you to the core with the most harsh but inarguable truth.

The Varys/Olenna scene was great for the same reason. Two intelligent characters that know how the game works just shootin the shit.

My favorite line was during the campfire scene. As Jaime is brooding over his lost sword hand, Brienne calls him out: "You have one taste of the real world, where people have important things taken from them, and you whine and cry and quit." It isn't that deep or anything, I just thought it was perfect.

Don't think the book has ever really revealed who Coldhands was. My first guess was Benjen but it seems unless he underwent massive changes since he was last seen that it probably isn't him. So they could also use any random person to play the role as his actual identity isn't known.
