Also Roy Dotrice version of Book four is rather recent. It was rerecorded from a different narrator due to popular demand.

Don't they pronounce it "Pi-tire" in the show? He also changed Cat-elyn to Kaitlyn.

Shame on you, Carice van Houten is the essence of scarousing. Seriously, she's excellent.

Wild speculation: Benjen's alive, he's the one that left the cloak/dragonglass at the Fist of the First Men. That's an idea I've had in the back of my head for quite a while, but seeing Samwell kill that White Walker reinforces it: if Samwell can do it, Benjen easily can.
By the way, as awesome as that scene was, it did cheapen the White Walkers a bit, in an instant they went from nigh-invincible threat to "lulz, even a Samwell can kill one with the right weapon". Instant Borg treatment.
