So I just logged on to see this event has already started, does that mean I don't get the bonuses for the tablets? I've got the quickening, but do you have to be in a certain area or whatever for the skillups, like an area where a tablet was found?

Any signet zone I believe.

All Signet Related Zones, Apparently Except Sea.

Possibly not compatible with CoP Areas as well.

The tablet being found in Cape Terrigan showed up in my log twice and when I went to the moogle for my reward it had said another player discovered the tablet in Valley of Sorrows but I know I clicked on it and I got a ring and Nomad Moogle Statue.

Didn't read whole thread, but is the Regen/Refresh like only below 80% hp/mp or something? All 11 tablets had been found on Levi before I'd logged in like 5 hours after it started, so I tele'd out to holla where one tablet had been found and I got the enhanced speed. I had full hp, but after tele'ing out there I wasn't getting the refresh.

Noticed something interesting... The quickening from tablets will wear off if you ride an airship, so it seems those zones do not count as signet areas.

Noticed absolutely zero difference on guard skill... switched to staff, and noticed zero difference in staff skill and zero difference in parrying.

And if you aggro a Cockatrice in Cape Teriggan - a word of advice... don't run north in hopes of finding a safe spot to kill it... there aren't any.

Once a week for rewards, but the buffs lasts the entire week (all 11 active this week) then 3 random buffs till the end off FFXI every week after.

So you can get a chance to get the ring/random item (seems to be furniture or crafting item?) next week.

Going to test Guard at a higher level place (Boyahda Tree) on PUP and see. Will fight two of the mandies then rest then see if resting makes a diff or not

P.S. You don't need Signet active for the buffs... they work without it.

I'm sad. The 10th tablet on Alexander was found like 30 min in and in the zone I started in, East Sarutabaruta, but I got bored and had moved to a different zone before then had a good shot at it if I had just been more patient/thorough. Took almost another 20 minutes so almost an hour after the event went live before the 11th was found on Alexander.

P.S. You don't need Signet active for the buffs... they work without it.

SE explicitly noted a signet requirement on some (not all) of the bonuses.

"Martial Master": As an added Signet effect, battle skills will increase more rapidly!
"Blood of the Vampyr": Signets will be boosted with the abilities of Regeneration and Refresh!
"Treasure Hound": Signet will grant you the Gilfinder and Treasure Hunter abilities!

Regen + Refresh + Anniversary Ring. OMG my DRK might get some XP and not lose it all by dying over and over as much as usual. *puts up flag and waits for 9 hours while crickets chirp*

Tanked four Mourioche mandies in Boyahda Tree as PUP/DNC. Got a .2 and .3 Guard skill.

Rested afterwards, then tried three mandies and got nothing. Doubting resting enhances it whatsoever. Maybe battle skill was just for weapons?

fought mandies (3 at a time), steelshells, black mandies and gobbues for an hour or so at the tree. got .3 skillup. guard is at 198 now. i even healed for a bit twice to see if that would help, but it didnt seem too.

Noticed with Shield Skill Tanking 3 Pucks and didnt notice anything on the side of Enhanced Skill ups.

Seems like it just effects Weapons?
