They should divide the awesome events more... everything in spring, it's no good! Make something as good for the dark winter too SE ;(
This event will still be here come winter.
But it won't have that new event smell anymore.
It'll will be nerfed too D:
So enhanced skillups dont work for Guard?
And here I thought they were gonna give us a break for once...
What's funny about what you wrote is, that's been my take on the whole exp ring reward thing. It makes a lot of sense if you see the "reward" from this event not as the exp ring but as the final step in buffing signet, as well as adding a mechanism to help people who have underlevelled weapon skills from level sync, both of which they have stated in the past they were looking into adding. If there was a lesser incentive, people would eventually lose interest like besieged and the tablets would likely go days without being found, but the kupofried ring pretty much guarantees that will never happen.
That is all fine and dandy IF the Kupofried is not a one-time thing, which I suspect it is. They hand out an Anniversary Ring once a year. Kupofried is two Anniversary Rings in one... I doubt that it's obtainable every week from here on out. The incentive is random loot item + Kupowers.
So, I've been trying to get quickening but it's not happening. D: Am I missing how these are acquired? I thought you just had to be in a zone fully rested? Says the zone i am in had a tablet found, but I'm not getting speedy shoes.![]()
edit:OOOO nvm I just got it. I had to rest a tick of HP apparently. Even though I was already full.
1) have signet on
2) be in a signet-related area
3) rest for 10 seconds
4) that's it.
It has nothing to do with hp/mp%. Just rest for a moment and you will get your +25% movement speed which seems to last forever until you change jobs, perform an action on an enemy, or vice versa, or enter a non-signet zone.
Pucks, not Puks. They're a Mandragora type enemy in Den of Rancor.
I'm not sure if by "one-time thing" you mean that an individual can only obtain one ever or once per year (in which case there's no real change) or if you mean nobody gets one doing the quest after May 25, but in both cases I see no reason to assume it works that way. If they meant an individual can only receive one, I think they would have said something like, "and as a special bonus, a player recovering a tablet for the first time will receive [blah blah]," and if it was a limited-time thing, they would have just included the part about the ring in the last section ("A Special Vana'versary Bonus!"). But no reason to argue this, it's only a matter of time before we find out one way or the other.
To expand on what I was saying before, everyone knows that events with global rewards have a very short lifespan. Even well before Besieged got to the point it was at now, half the people there were using it for skillups, and it wasn't long at all before "help the allied forces defeat the beastmen" in Campaign became "stand by the NPC and bot bard songs" and then "mash on forts while you're afk". I think to the extent that this is one of those "global rewards" events, they did a really good job designing it, and that the main objections to it derive from people having .dat mined a month earlier and developed expectations about how we would be getting the rings.
