Time to finish off Polearm and Archery for me, then!
Blah. Killed well over 30 mobs in S.Champ. 2 blue chests.
FFFFFFF....
Don't really notice a difference leveling polearm on Kuftal crabs. Gotten about 5 levels (115-120) in 20 minutes.
I /healed for a few minutes and the quickening effect was much faster than only healing for one tick. It wasn't 12%, it was faster than that because I was moving as fast as nins with AF feet.
Haven't tried out the whole TH/Gilfinder thing though. Does it stack with THF's traits?
It will be very difficult to test if the treasure hunter stacks with a THF who is already TH4 to create a "TH5" effect.
HOWEVER...
Maybe it would be easy to test if the Super Kupower Gilfinder stacks with THF Gilfinder. We can take an educated guess that if Gilfinder stacks, TH also stacks.
Is there an easy NM that drops a static amount of gil, so that it is easy to test the effects of Gilfinder?
Any word on if you can get rings after tablets have been found? If its not possible its another reason for me to abhor JP players.
A few things...
You are giving SE's english translator more credit than s/he deserves considering some major discrepancies in the past (lolaugments, for example). Yeah, there's nothing in these update notes that say the Kupofried's Ring is an item that each player can only obtain once ever (for the time being). However, it also does not specifically say that each player will get a Kupofried's Ring every single time they discover a Mog-Tablet. This can obviously go either way if you don't consider anything else.
Now, with that 50/50 possibility, take into consideration what the current trends are with EXP rings. We have a group of "you can only have one of these and only recharge it once per week by spending credits" weakest EXP rings. Then, we have this really amazing "once-per year game anniversary onry and can't recharge it" EXP ring. Finally, we have this super badass new EXP ring that is literally twice as potent as the once ultimate Anniversary Ring. Logic tells me (and I would imagine others too) that it is incredibly unlikely that Kupofried's Ring, being as potent and superior as it is, will be re-obtainable after only a week's time.
Also, you seem to be dismissing the fact that SE specifially said that this "event" would proceed from May 12th, 2009 and continue "INDEFINITELY." They never stated anything would change regarding it after some imaginary set time elapsed.
When else have they ever said that an event would continue indefinitely? This is most like a completely permanent fixture to the Signet system. Because of it, I think they have finally succeeded in completely rejeuvinating old RotZ zones, and outdone themselves in the process.
They have pretty much mimicked the Sanction/Astral Candescence system for Signet. This has brought up the Signet system to the standards set when they released ToAU, long overdue. The rewards from retrieving the Mog-Tablets (an incredibly easy task) are pretty good in relation to the effort involved, completely ignoring the Kupofried's Ring. However, Noble's Beds, Bloodwood Logs, and Adaman Ingots isn't going to keep everyone interest for long... This is similar to retrieving the Astral Candescence. We all want the bonuses, so people are going to have to go get them back.
So, they impliment a system that gives first time achievers an ultimate badass, one-time, disposable EXP ring. In theory, with thousands of people on each server, if a new person got a tablet every time, it would take years for everyone to finally get their Kupofried Ring. This isn't even considering that some people would continue to find/hunt tablets for Moogle Statues and ultimately Kupowers, cutting down on the number of Kupofried Rings obtained per week. Restricting to one-ring-per-person would naturally decrease some involvement from players who have already received theirs, allowing more first-timers to discover them.
A repeatable obtaining of Kupofried Rings would draw out the longevity of the new Kupowers system, but also piss off a large quantity of casual players, a demographic which they've been trying to excessively please as of late. We will surely find out in a week, but there really is no real reason that Kupofrieds wouldn't be simply a first-time reward. There's not a lot of repeatable situations in this game where you receive two physical items as a reward unless it's a first-time reward + repeatable reward.
Did you miss the entire discussion on the event?
Thousands of players.
32 zones.
11 tablets.
11 winners.
11 Kupofried Rings.
after a week, rinse and repeat.
The only thing left is to see if tossing Kupofried Ring will allow another to be obtained for finding a 2nd mog-tablet in later weeks.
I fear Square-Enix might have made the false assumption that it would be unlikely for the same people to find the tablets every week, and hoped that having an equal chance to find them would distribute rings to various players.
Regeneration is 2 TP/tick under 50% HP, Refresh is 1 MP/tick under 50% MP. My apologies if this has already been reported, but I'm skilling up and decided to test it just to see.
The fact that nearly all the other events that SE holds are able to be undertaken by EVERY FFXI player, this one seems exclusionary and capable of pissing people (I.E Me) off.Heres to hoping tablets repop once a day.
Do the tablets de spawn when they've been hit?

Any good use for this ring? I'm seriously considering about hunting it. It's it's a free blind spell, I think the accuracy is high due to them "Stone" enchantment weapons, I had it do 50 or so damage on a level 60 mob.
Wonder if mob will be unblind if I take it off, haha.
Speed boost doesn't seem to last more than hour for me.
Skilled throwing some I got 12 levels in 10 min. So the skill up thing works well.
Skills, of both offensive and defensive, skills up faster the lower they are. I remember when I was guard 97 I was getting pretty fast skillups too. It slows down tremendously at 200+.
All signs point to no change on skilling up defensive skills thus far at high levels; still slow as shit. What you saw at 97 was normal. Don't get your hopes up.
The hell? Why are people just skipping to page 14 and asking questions?
- Event begins.
- 11 Mog-Tablets spawn in 32 possible zones.
- Any player finding a Mog-Tablet despawns it and sends it back to Ru'Lude Gardens. Server is notified of discovery.
- As a reward for retrieving a Mog-Tablet, players get Kupofried's Ring + random item.
- Once all 11 tablets are found & returned by players to Ru'Lude Gardens, the entire server gets 3 random Kupower effects.
- After 1 week, the 11 Mog-Tablets will get redispursed into the 11 random zones out of the 32 possible. Kupower effects are lost.
- Repeat.
A) It is unknown whether it resets exactly 7 days after the Mog-Tablets appeared in the zones or exactly 7 days after all 11 Mog-Tablets are gathered. Hopefully the latter so eventually prime hunting times will change.
B) It is unknown whether you can receive another Kupofried's Ring after already been rewarded one, or if one can be obtained after the first week at all.
Now fucking read itttttttt.
