What's wrong with you? Pick a day and time where you are asleep or at work or at school every week and pretend like that's when it restarts, and that's what it would be like for over half the FFXI playerbase if it was done every week at conquest tally.

I personally would have preferred if it was a fixed interval after it ended instead of being random, but the way they chose to do it is still far superior to doing it at the same time every week.

Majority of NA and EU will be asleep or at work if it's tied to the tally. Only the JP would find the damn tablets. It being random gives us all a better chance at finding the tablets. How the fuck can you bitch about that?

Sorry, I assumed that because that's what other people had said previously in this thread (that it ought to reset on conquest).

Edit: I still don't see the objection though. If you only care about the bonuses, then you'll go without them an average of a few hours or half a day or whatever once a week, and then you'll have them again for another week without having to put forward any effort since others will go looking for the tablets. If you care about the ring then you can invest however much effort you feel is proportional to your desire to obtain one, whether that means camping a zone until the tablets are put back out, or just being around playing and ready to stop whatever you're doing at a moment's notice, or whether you just figure you'll try to get them if they happen to go out when you're on and it's convenient for you. To that extent, it's an awful lot like another class of events in this game that many people here participate in.

This would slowly shift hunting times forward by about 15~45min every week. Seems fairish. I think they are both fair. The hardcore players like to whine and bitch because they feel obligated to be hardcore about everything, thus camping instead of reacting.

Come the 0-hour of when tablets could potentially redispurse, I'll just keep a /WHM or /BLM sub on to immediately warp>outpost or tele-whatever to start hunting if it happens. What's the big deal? Physically camping out in a zone isn't really going to give you much of a jump start on anyone, if any at all... especially with a ~66% chance of it being the wrong zone entirely.

Conquest tally is actually prime time for EU players. 4pm on sunday afternoon? yes please. even 11am for EST players is pretty acceptable.


On another note, if it's a weekly timed reset decided by when the tablets were found, wouldn't maintenance effect it like it does the HNM timers? Makes me more hopeful it'll be done with conauqest tally.

Hope there's a message stating the tablets are now out there, ready to be found. It would suck otherwise, only to stumble upon them unexpectedly when out and about rather than being made aware so you can actively pursue them.

So it looks like we keep the buffs up until the point the quest restarts, at which point we get that message. Only question is whether we can get it anywhere or whether you have to be in an effected zone to see it.

Seems like it'll be at a random hour exactly one week after the 11 tablet was found. Also, the reset will be randomized on each server.
