I have been playing it today. I honestly like it. I didn't expect Epic for a 14 year game. If you did, you set yourself up for failure. One liners and killing aliens = all you need for a duke game !

Boring, uninspired shooting. Really, really bad one-liners. It's a filthy (as in, it looks like shit and the overall design is terrible), bad game and I think Gearbox isn't exactly pleased with it. In a lot of the interviews they get REALLY defensive about the decisions they made.

I expected jackshit from this game, and that's what I got, but I also got some mindless blowingshitup fun times, some tits in my vidya game, even if all the women look like trash (what do you expect in Duke's realm).. and cheese. So much cheesiness.

I just think people got so hyped for the game, like people get hyped for movies, that this game could have been gold and still be a let down somehow. Now I'm not defending it, like LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE or any of that, because I see toooons of shitty aspects (the two weapon thing is stupid, that's for fucking sure), but again.. it's Duke Nukem. Not CoD, not Battlefield, not Halo... it's Duke "Shake it baby" Nukem. Deal with it.

the argument "this is no CoD or Halo" is a nice one.... But they charged $60 for it. novelity and charm is worth the price of an Xb arcade title. A better way to judge this would be "this isn't worth $60"

The only duke i ever saw was the demo of 3D on those old Jampack discs Sony used to have.

The problem isn't that they're cheesy one-liners. They're poorly written, stupid and fratboy levels of idiocy. I beat the campaign and I honestly didn't even chuckle once. I was a huge Duke Nukem 3D fan, but this was just chock full of internet memes. The movie quotes were funny in DN3D since Duke is supposed to be, for all intents and purposes an action hero. The internet memes are not funny because Duke is not an internet troll.

I honestly wasn't expecting much because I really didn't expect Duke to age all that well to begin with. He's an 80/90s action hero. The game just reeks of Gearbox not giving a single fuck and slapping a name on crappy mechanics and watching the money roll in.

I do agree with Tekki, the big problem here is that they're charging $60 for ...what exactly? You can't honestly look at this game and tell me a ton of hard work went into it. If this was a $15 XBLA summer game, it would be fine.

And again, bitching about the cheesy, poorly written one liners from Duke Fucking Nukem is the most absurd thing I've ever seen. His humor IS frat level sort of humor. How old were you when Duke Nukem 3D came out. Know how old I was? 13. That sort of shit made me lol, and I liked looking at the tits because I was a 13 year old kid. Of course that sort of humor is going to fall flat with most folks now because it took so damn long for the game to come out... but to jump on it because it's poorly written in a game about a dude who runs around, smoking cigars, making it rain for strippers, shooting pig demons, and pissing at every toilet possible? Silly.

I think Gearbox was smart, though. It shows that they didn't put a ton of effort into the game, but it's nostalgiafags that'll eat the shit up and pay the full retail price for the game without doing their research first, lol

Wouldn't have killed Gearbox to not make the console versions suck due to poor port job though. Was watching my brother play it on PC at maxed settings, and it looks like a whole new game compared to what I tried on the PS3.

I'm surprised reviewer sites are giving the PC release the same score as the console versions when it doesn't suffer remotely as bad on the load times and frame-rate issues.
