Which is why the only games I'm buying are NCAA, Madden, NHL, Resistance 3 ,AC:R, Gears 3, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim and Halo: CE.

Far too many amazing games coming out in a 4 month period.

I hear ya. I'm being extra picky though since I've been splurging too much on digital-games lately due to good sales, so I'll be waiting on shit like AC:R and Resistance3 to drop price also.
(well, maybe not on Resistance3 if I pick up that Sony 3DTV that has it packed in)

Annoys me when 3 games of interest pop up a sale out of nowhere and I end up spending $20 that I was otherwise reserving for something in the retail space.

On a side note, it felt like a missed opportunity for Gearbox to not get the rights to do a Duke3d port for PSN finally. I'd pay $10 for that (assuming it included the expansion episode) in a jiffy if it included split-screen co-op.

How to lose your biggest customer;

The Redner Group is a company that has been working with 2K to help make sure the roll-out of Duke Nukem Forever assets and press copies goes without a hitch. It's the norm really, publishers tend to utilize third party public relations for that sort of stuff especially when there's a big launch on the horizon. What's not normal though was a Twitter rant by someone associated with the Redner Group which was posted out in the open for all to see regarding harsh Duke Nukem Forever reviews.

The messages have since been deleted but through the magic of the internets they've been restored, somewhat. In the rant the Redner Group associate in charge of updating the official Twitter account (rumored to be founder Jim Redner) pretty clearly suggested that the harsh critics out there may not be on Santa's list next time a launch rolls around. It's somewhat of a big deal because media outlets that don't get copies on time obviously struggle to remain competitive as most other major outlets are able to publish reviews on launch day due to having access to titles prior to release.

Fair is great. Even if the score is poor, as long as the review is fair...I've got zero complaints.

Bad scores are fine. Venom filled reviews...that's completely different.

I think gamers overall are annoyed when publishers try to cheat/inflate review scores by being selective about who they're lending review copies to try and fix Metacritic scores higher and the like.

Its a bit of both I think. I think you should read the review and see what they really think. But if scores end up being at the extremes on either end, i feel like generally theres a good reason for that.

I think it also depends on the reviewers that are writing about the game. How their mindset lines up with your own etc. For me, it seems like the writers over at Game Informer seem to have opinions that closely mirror my own. It's very rare that what they put up as a score is different from what I think.
