Leading an LS killed my social life. I'm still trying to recover. I've canceled plans so many times because I had to lead X event.

Ended up sleeping with some dude from FFXI that I went to a concert with. WORST IDEA OF ALL TIME.

Also, being an LS leader turned me into a horrible, bitter person. I was so nice and happy before FFXI! Now I'm some horrible monster who yells at people for being human garbage.

The carnage for me from ffxi isn't nearly all that bad, mostly just hardware: 6x mic/headsets from throwing them across the room, and generally not unplugging them from the soundcard before doing so. Also, gone through 3-4 USB keyboards as well.

As far as kids, yea, having kids changes your life; and for me: My kid > gjallarhorn>everypieceofgear.

As far as wife, yea, well, we did meet initially online, but not through this game. In fact, she hates this game with a passion -go figure!

Prioritizing FFXI (NPC leveling in Tor. Canal) over paying attention to a girl I knew in college ended up working out great because rather than just being shy it demanded a more tactile approach to pull my attention away.

You guys with these weight problems... I don't even... I hardly eat when I play FFXI. I started playing when I was young I guess, and I was never fat but I was kind of chubby. I've been exercising daily now(6 monthish), but before I started I was really thin because I never ate.

I used to be hard core addicted a few years ago, but now I'm only on for daily HNMs and dynamis/limbus/einherjar. FFXI killed my love for video games just like it made me stupidly addicted. I only play now because I have absolutely nothing else to do; so until I go back to school in 3 months and a few days this is what I'll be doing. Plus when I'm actually on I can only play for an hour tops. This applies to any video game I play. I guess it's a good thing and at the same time a bad thing.

Also, sometimes I think in auto translate.

OH GOD THIS. People give me the dumbest looks at work when I string auto trans phrases together to make horribly worded sentences.

I've skipped out on countless family events or left them early to do shit in game; I even write my work schedule so I can attend events. Everyone in my store knows what events are going on because of the days I won't work or close on. xD

I've also been seriously considering cosplaying; I think that's probably the worst thing to come from playing this game.

I may indeed have a hat that is comparable to Scrooge McDuck. I may also be catching up on Duck Tales while I diddle away the hours for events. This is why I'm never on vent, or if I am, am far too busy to talk to my LS. Wackaroonie.

The worst thing FFXI makes me do is stay inside on Fridays or Saturdays if there is an event I want to do. I like to think I have an active sociel life, but sometimes FFXI gets in the way of it.

I've also called in sick to work to camp Tiamat (on it's last 6 windows) knowing full well i don't get sick pay, so i lost around £90 just to camp a HNM that doesn't put out.
