I was driving up to my girlfriends house the other day to pick her up and the route i take sometimes has cops that drive and will radar you as they pass you. In this area they also have SUV cop cars (I think they are suburbans) and they are very hard to see from far away because the lights are not on the top of the roof. Well i was driving down the highway going about 110 in a 80 zone (I live in Canada no i wasn't driving a race car) and i see this truck that looks like it may be a cop. All paniced instead of slowing down i was trying to tab to the car to see if it was labeled cop but there were too many other cars around and i kept tabbing past it, or what i thought was tabbing at least.....

turns out it wasn't a cop but after it past me i was like... wow.... just wow...

Had a dream once where i solo'd Nidhogg and got E Body, was so real i had to wake up in the morning and check it wasn't in my inventory ;(

Apart from that - I could never play any other games apart from FFXI until recently, just kept thinking i could be using my time to farm for my relic. Also, developed serious insomnia for the first 2 years of university, would go to bed at 3pm, wake up at 9pm and play until 3pm again. Was the most fucked up sleeping pattern ever o_o;

Same thing happens to my friends. I also have this issue but I don't drive. It's mostly a habit of looking down the lower left corner everywhere I go, but not really seeing anything.

Reading this thread makes me realize I'm not the only crazy one here.

I was driving the other day and was wondering which way was north, so my eyes automatically drifted to the lower left hand corner of my windshield. I use "What's the battle plan?" in convo a lot, and I've not done a lot of homework because I was too busy doing stupid shit in game.

When I used to play Halo a lot, I was out in a parking lot one day and there was a car like a half a mile away that I couldn't tell what make/model it was, and my thumb automatically twitched, trying to zoom in.

I live in NYC and whenever people ask for directions, they usually just want either what train to take (uptown/downtown) or like, street name if where they should be hitting at. One time this person on a bike asked where 42nd was, so I just told them "Oh just go North" in a general sense expecting this guy to have a compass on their lower left corner. the guy was like "What...?" I was like "what the hell" in my head.. snapped out of it and just pointed and said "go up Broadway and you'll hit it eventually." I laughed after that and felt a little embarassed

My 2 worst:

1. Had a very realistic dream that I went into my backyard where all my friends were fighting King Behe (yes, they were kiting it around my fence line), and it died just as I got out there. Then all my friends were like "hey neo, no one wants the ring, lot it please". Got my defending ring and was SO HAPPY, then I woke up.. Dont know if I was sadder that I still didnt have a ring, or that I dreamed about FFXI.

2. I find myself having to REALLY try not to say "lol" in RL when I think something is funny.

Outside of the obvious countless hours of sleep I've lost out on due to my 12AM event LS. Work starts at 10:30 AM every day so I usually make 6~ hours of sleep dynamis nights but i'm usually the first gone after an event.

I have this problem where my g/f plays, and loves the game, and we play together and have fun etc. but sometimes she's unable to play because we don't have a second system sometimes (we basically use someone elses PC while they're gone.) So she's "locked out" of FFXI while i'm doing events or whatever and she does other shit (read, whatever.) Well after a while the "why don't you pay enough attention to me" starts. Yeah.

Outside of the obvious new laptop inc. in about 3 weeks (which is the only way to fix said situation I can see,) there is obviously quitting and joining real life again.

But it's not time for that yet, I can't quit until /after/ I blow 6 months of currency on a Mandau!

Lost a wife to this game, found a girlfriend through this game and then lost her due to my addiction to it (and other things), met 11 people from my social ls irl and had many good times, stayed up too late, called in sick to work for Morbolger camping, use autotranslate in emails, abbreviations in txt msgs (eggs:O just doesn't mean much to non-FFXI'ers), missed my own driveway thinking about back armor choices, bought 2 more computers and 2 PS2's ... hate this game, love this game, miss my friend who quit.

Besides the time spent and the occasional FFXI-related dream, the only thing the game has impacted is the fact that an in-game friend of me and a RL-mate who also plays came to visit from England to hang around and go out clubbing a couple of days here. Was awesome. Unless he calls me now to tell me he slept with my girl during that time, nothing negative to come from the game so far.

I had a dream, not sure how I got there or whatever but I remember I was decked in duelist's hat/morrigan's robe/pants/shoes (lol)

I remember the duelist's chap was leather, felt so real, and the robe was so detailed. Something only the mind could do on it's own. Haha
