I didn't pay much attention to the gil prizes, not many cases where I can see myself picking them, and I don't entertain any serious thoughts that I might win above a rank 3 given my "luck".

Just add a random digit to the end of your post count.

I thought they stated that they had some tumbler and picked a number from that? It was in some interview after the last one. It was when they said they couldn't call it a lotto due to legal reasons and had to come up with the word bonanza.

Sundi gave a release that while lottery laws prevented them from releasing how they picked the numbers last year, they did all kinds of things. They rolled dice, scratched lotto tickets, drew cards, basically a whole bunch of different ways to generate random numbers without computers.

It'd actually be quite interesting to see. Much better than asking a computer for random(10) through random(100000).

seems the rank 1 gil prize is 100,000,000g. talked to moogle and asked him about prizes. they list 100,000,000 as top reward.

SE will say it's incorrect though, and still give you an amount they deem to be the "correct" amount

yes I did read this thread, all 3 pages of it, and was never mentioned. Plus, due to the fact that there seems to have been small weekly maintenances for the past 4-5 weeks, you would think SE would fix the fucking moogles too, so they don't false advertise.

and SE had a partial world maintenance the day after. you woulda thought they would have fixed their mistake at that time, and not let it continue throughout the entire time that marbles could be purchased.

The random-number generator seemed to have a thing for 8s, incidentally.

The only problem with that is that your security token is not random at all.

Since the "random" number the moogle generates is impossible to be a winner (or is that only on a console version?), you can narrow your choices down by eliminating all numbers that fit the pattern of the moogle numbers.

No number is impossible to be a winner. PS2 gave even-odd alternating numbers last year, but that doesn't mean it couldn't win. It just means your chances were limited because if you only picked random numbers that follow that pattern then certain combinations (like all of last years winners) would've been impossible to get that way.

And when the moogle gives you short number that means it starts with 0.

It doesn't do EOEOE/OEOEO this year, gave me one that was like EEOOO, and a EOEEO... I still went with my 3d10 first three, last two covering a stretch of numbers on my three toons.
