I'm not sure if the interaction changes when using a Ditto as the "female", but in the way egg moves work that should, in theory, work without any problems. I did a little research into it myself just now, and I can't find anything that conclusively states that a male with an egg move using a ditto as a female won't inherit a valid egg move.

So, it should work. Either way, no harm in spending a little time and testing it out.

Yeah working on raising the happiness on a female Riolu atm cause the Lucario I had to do breeding with was a male ofc. Just leaving the female in my pty while I hatch eggs with a soothe bell on it so it'll get happiness every 256 steps. I'll post back when I do finally get to try it and tell ya how it went. I sure hope a Riolu can pass down an egg move it learned. I can't recall ever having any issues with passing down egg moves from within the same species, but it's been a while.

Ouch! The wifes up to 6 boxes full of Eevee's trying to get a shiny with the masuda method. T_T With my shiny Teddiursa I was like "Oh, hell yeah this is gonna be way easier with 1/25~ odds this is awesome!".... Yeah... was mostly luck involved in that one even using the Masuda method it seems. The worst part in all of this is that when you do get a shiny its of course going to have trash IV's and the wrong nature and ability (happened with Teddi). >_>

Anyone know if Kings rock and togekiss's serene grace stack? Like 71.6% flinch rate on air slash would be awesome lol. Also anyone know the prerequisits for winning bug contest? Asked before but didn't get answered

, I assume it is level based cause I lost with a lvl 13 Scyther vs some Kakuna.

Don't believe it works on added effects obtained from held items. =/ Can't really say for sure, but the way it's worded makes it sound like only the additional effects that are directly part of a move will be doubled in chance.

Yeah, I feel like once I actually get one it's going to end up with a terrible nature, but whatever. Black charizards look tight. I wish there was something better than this jp ditto shit (aside from cheating) cuz I kinda want a shiny mareep, too, but I'd like to actually play through gold instead of sitting here hatching eggs.

I know what you mean about wanting to actually play the game -_- I still haven't beaten the E4 on this Platinum yet, and have SS sitting on my desk waiting for me, but really want to get a freaking shiny Riolu. Probably gonna call it and just move on after tonight. Breeding in HG/SS is soooooo much better because you can make a parent hold an EV item (ie power bracer) to guarantee that stat gets passed down! =O Not sure if it will work with Masuda method, but going to say no since the Everstone nature method doesn't work with it.

Well yeah but king's rock is about 11% or so chance for flinch. The ability makes double so 30% from air slash goes to 60% naturally, so attach the kings rock will that make it 71% chance for flinch? Or does the ability overpower any items and automatically just make it stay at 60% ignoring the 11% from the kings rock, doesn't seem possible but a friend told me they don't stack.

Oh in that case then yeah I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'm almost positive it won't double the King's Rocks added effect. That's what I thought you were asking initially. So yeah I guess you'd end up with a 71% flinch rate. It's not really that broken considering the other possibilities for held items so I don't see why they'd make it impossible to do. I don't guess there is really any way to say for sure though unless someone did a large sample size test (like some FFXI testing) and figured out the percentage that way or Nintendo flat out tells us if it does.
