Yeah, Dusk too, completely forgot about those. For any of the non stationary legendaries, your best bet is Dusk, Fast really only works well on Raikou and Entei.

Fast Ball. But even then, they're an incredible bitch to catch, I've had Raikou running around at 1% and slept for days now and he just won't stay caught for more than 1 tick in an Ultra Ball, and keeps breaking out at the last second on Fast Balls.

The old "push A+B on every tick of the ball" actually used to improve capture rates back in Generation I. They've looong since removed that though, it all functions in a pretty simple mathematical formula now.

HP depends on IVs, just calculate the IVs needed for the HP, if you are going for HP of a certain type on a poke you're probably going for a perfect IVs too so it's a combination of 30/31s depending on the HP.

Ragnell is a total gentleman. Hooked it up with 8 hawt pokeyz, most of them were fine except 3 (which dc me from wi-fi for some reason). Gonna hold off til I get my dream team of 6 (maybe i can get the 3 glitched ones fixed) and replay soul silver in style. Can't wait to wreck shit with a perfect Lucario and Aerodactyl at lv2 and beyond.

I gave up on a shiny Lucario finally. It took me I think it was 3 days of breeding for Crunch to get an Adamant one with Inner Focus, and SRing that one for good IVs in ATK/SPD. Didn't have much chance at a shiny sadly during that because I had to use Luxray + Lucario for Crunch which killed my Masuda method. ><

Maybe he will have better luck, and hook it up with the black Charmander for ya. /crackwhip ;3

R4 generally isn't so swell these days compatibility wise. It's a dead card firmware wise officially I believe? I could be wrong, but that's what I remember hearing. I recommend getting an Acekard or CycloDS, and definitely recommend buying Heart Gold on Amazon for $30 shipped if you live in the US (edit: just saw your location so guessing it probably wouldn't be cheap to get to you =/). Well worth the hundreds of hours of gameplay you'll get, and you get the Pokewalker too which kicks ass and allows access to exclusive stuff. =)

Can you go to a pokemart, pick up the pokemon, check nature, and soft-reset to get a good nature (and IVs maybe?) Or does picking it up from the pokemart automatically remove it? (since they do warn you to save after picking up your pokemon)

For the most part yes, but there are a few WC pokemon with preset natures(bastards ruined a perfectly good draginite), not sure about IVs though.

Yes you can Soft-reset for better natures/ability/IV's. On preset Nature Pokemon you can still soft-reset for good IVs. I did this with Shiny Pichu. ^^
