Gold and Silver still ARE the best pokemons to date in my opinion. It was such an upgrade from Blue and Red and all the pokemon they added in it were actually really good unlike the next generations where a bunch of the pokemon I felt were kind of hit and miss. Like I said before, 16 badges is fucking amazing.

More importantly, the sequels that followed Gold and Silver upgraded the battle system.

Silver/Gold/Crystal brought huge changes to pokemon

Added 2 new types
Ability to hold items
Real time events
Pokegear
Shiny Pokemons
Changed stats from Special to Sp. Att and Def.
Breeding
ect.

I dont think any other pokemon game has brought even close to big changes after G/S/C. Everything else was just addon and minor tweaks

Yea but it was still a cute ripoff of those games, and more successful.
But yea the battle system thank god, get improved in every game.

Every pokemon game is a rehash of the previous one. That doesn't make it a bad series, though.

As far as the setting, I think G/S/C had the best idea for an overworld. Going and beating Red at the end of the game is awesome.

2nd gen added the most new stuff, 4th gen capitalized on it the most and had the best engine.

I don't have anything to say about the 3rd gen, I didn't beat any of those games and don't really remember anything outstanding about any of the 3 games.

If they do these 2 right, they'll be my favorite so far. Right now, Platinum has that spot. Crystal before it.

Eh, The only real Huge draw in for me about D/P/P is the Online, god knows how long we've been waiting for a pokemon game we can go online with, other than that, I dont see that big of deal with it tbh.

Yeah I've really been enjoying Platinum. Just finished beating the Elite Four and now working on getting the last three Pokemon to finish my dream team (need to find someone to trade a Totodile ; ; ) Can't wait to start battling with my friends hahaha.

Also now that I think of it maybe I was just underleveld (which I think I wasn't because I only really used a team of three Pokemon for the whole game.) But the Elite Four in this game were pretty tough. Although nothing beats Kanto / Johto Elite Four (Fuck you Lorelei.)

Because grinding and AI opponents in Pokemon are usually easy as shit. The game's only redeeming aspect would be the PvP, but why would you create a MMO for that? You can do that right now.

EDIT: Also there isn't even room for superficial depth after hitting level 100. Are they going to add a multi-piece armor set mechanic? lol

EDIT: This is what most MMO ideas come down to. "Oh my god! Imagine if we could play Street Fighter as a MMO! It would be like playing Street Fighter 4 but with a monthly fee!"

AI's are usually dumb as bricks but I mean they kind of program these games for a younger audience. I'll tell you right now though a Pokemon MMO that is made properly would take over the world.

Diamond was the first Pokemon game where I couldn't just use nothing but my starter and then the token legend later on to wipe anything and everything in my path. Elite Four was a bitch, even with a team of 4 or so well trained Pokemon plus two of the legends as death fodder.

Yea AI is easy but make them battle tower AI, then lets see how easy the grind is, they could steal ideas from other MMOs, with level cap quests and different items ect ect. I'm sure Rare pokemon would be extremely rare events, like getting to PW and shit, but knowing Nintendo, it's a fools dream

Diamond's E4 was easy to me tbh, the hardest E4 to me was R/S

But Blaziken just rips through them, If you dont have a Fire or Fighting, then it's fucking tough.
