A pokemon. There's nothing that influences anything other than the number of steps until something shows up, when you put a pokemon in it's randomly decided which pokemon out of the two from groups A, B and C you get for the duration.

If there's anything more to it than that, no one has posted any evidence of it. I know from running the same course roughly three times and getting different sets of wilds with the same pokemon in the walker that it's more than likely just random.

My personal favorite thing to do?

Win the game with the first six pokemon you capture/get. Evolving them is fine (what are we Ash or something?) but take those first Pokemon from beginning to end.

Six different ones, so 5 + your starter. Feel free to snag anything else you like, but you're going to beat every Gym and the Elites with those six. You'll probably need a "taxi" or two along the way if they won't learn all the HM moves you need to get around.

Only problem with those Amazon sellers is I don't think any of them are in the box, and with the plastic still. Wouldn't really want one unless it was. Perfectionism nags at me too much lol.

I bought mine in "very good" condition, and just happened to get one with all the plastic wrap and stuff. You could always try emailing each seller who states "very good" as the condition to see if they got the boxes. Amazon has yet to disappoint me.

I was looking over the list of shinies and man a lot of those do suck. I like shinies that are obvious. Red dusclops, pink flaaffy, pink dratini, and their evolved forms are pretty tight. Shiny horsea is lame, but he at least evolves into a purple kingdra, which is what I've been breeding on gold. I only have 3 boxes left on plat to fill up with charmanders so I hope I get one soon.

They only really get harder towards the last gym (of the first 8 ) + elite 4.

Doing a perma-death run for shits and giggles, and going to nickname all my pokemon after characters that die. So far I've got JAAAYSON the Cyndaquil, Silhouette (Watchmen) the Hoothoot (Was going to go with Nite Owl, but it was female, so I figured this was close enough), and Viktor (Underworld).

Anyone want to help with a list of other characters that die so I have something for future reference, I would be quite grateful. Besides Aeris/Kamina/Dumbledore, and any medium works.

Yeah heh, I just traded one over from my Pokemon Pearl on the Acekard 2i along with a Master Ball. Was trading back and forth for boosted exp on Lucario/Jolteon/Espeon. :D

Question about the Pokéwalker...

I put a metapod that I got from the bug catching game (didn't know it had to be something from the box but oh well) and wondered if I can just do one walk with it constantly for days will it count for unlocking the other area (s) that require certain amount of steps?

yes but steps reset after each day

I don't know if watt does so i suggest you trade your pokemon bakc to the game before you sleep.

Also remember when it lv up inside the pokewalker it cannot evolve or learn new moves
