It's for collection purposes. I don't know why you'd think that obtaining a shiny was for anything other than that.

You want something for the comfort/satisfaction of having it, making excuses about the gameplay seem superfluous, especially when 90% of the people who play hardly give a damn about natures, let alone EVs or IVs.

Edit: Just caught a female Slowbro, still going with my 'characters that die' nickname pattern, and can't think of many female characters that die period, let alone one that fits Slowbro at all. Thinking of calling it Schiavo, but that's not really a character. If it was male, I could've at least used BillyBibbit, already used Lenny on my Ratata.

My HeartGold finally arrived today, yay!
Spent last night breeding SoulSilver exclusive Pokemons on my Pearl and prepping my legendarys for migration to HG.
The PokeWalker is pretty cool, but I agree with what somebody said earlier in this thread, that it would be cool if there were more ways to interract with your Pokemon (feeding etc.) and if the routes made a bigger impact on your Pokemon. For example, certain routes could give specific EVs, based on how many steps you've taken.

Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, etc. Any WiFi hotspot will work with the DS as long as it either isn't protected, or uses WEP.

Or you can just get someone to connect with you that has the card and share the Wonder Card for the item.

As for trading and battling, uh.. If you aren't embarrassed to have a heated Pokemon match in a Starbucks then I'd say go that route, otherwise I've got nothin'.

No car, can only walk, campus is huge, no "free unprotected wifi spots" in campus afaik, I tried going to a few places outside of campus but couldn't find anything, and the ones that I did find and I tried testing on my laptop weren't working

idk I'll try again another day. The pikachu forest thing is available now yea? I'd totally just pokesav for it, but, I actually bought the game... well, I could open the cart up, and transfer the save to my pc, edit it, then upload it lol, I actually know how to do that now >_>

It runs until May 5th in terms of being available to download, so I don't know that I'd be in any sort of huge omgwtfrush or a panic to get it right away, unless you absolutely cannot live without a Surfing or Flying Pikachu.

Would the USB wifi connector work for you? I had bought one a while back to use on my laptop because my DS wasn't compatible with my router (Though I've updated the firmware since then and NOW it works. God damn sob waste of money).

Its a simple little USB stick that basically creates a wifi for your DS or Wii connection. I don't know if it'll work for you but its worth looking into. The nintendo site has updated firmware for it that works with windows vista/7, too.
