I guess it lists ! twice because there's two different !'s. I'm not too sure what determines it, but I think if you pick the right grass real quick, you can reach !!! easy, but if you want to stay around !/!!, wait a few seconds before clicking. Has worked OK for me so far, not sure if that's how it really works.

My experience is that it's just another internal dice roll based on how many steps you've taken, because each group (A, B, C) unlocks when you've hit a certain number of steps. My total for the day in Yellow Forest is 19,000 steps and I can't get anything past the second single question mark, which is something I've never seen happen before. Bad RNG maybe, but honestly I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to it.

edit: Also, Parasect is hands down the best capture bitch. Spore + False Swipe

I believe you could get another Flying Pikachu, but I'm pretty certain the Surfing Pikachu are female so you wouldn't get HM from breeding? idk how the Pokewalker shit works tbh, I'm using Serebii's listing and it confuses the fuck out of me (Only males transfer Egg Moves and TM/HM right? God I'm so out of it.)

Same thing happened to me. You have to go catch Kyogre/Groudon (depending on your version) in the tower near the safari zone. He won't give you the exp share until after since you waited too long.

Ugh fucking bug catching contest, always get in 2nd place idk how to win this. One of the npc's said the one you catch has to be full HP, so I caught a nincanda lvl 32 full HP and still lost to a kriketune. How else to get evo stones!

I've thought about doing something different with HeartGold. As I mentioned before, I have 490 Pokemons caught with my Pearl, with almost all legendary Pokemons caught by myself in Emerald, Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, so getting a full Pokedex in HeartGold would be too easy.
At first, I thought about breeding every Pokemon that can produce eggs, so that all of my Pokemon would have me as their OT, but that gave me another idea. I love trading and breeding, so I've decided to obtain every non-legendary Pokemon in the Pokedex by trading. GTS makes this pretty easy (well, except for all the people asking for level 100 Darkrais or something), but it's still gonna require more effort than simply trading pretty much every Pokemon from my Pearl/Emerald.
And also, I will only trade base form, preferably hatched Pokemon that are still at level 1. The foreign dex entries and the 3D world map make this even more fun.

Eh goodluck with that. Like you said most of the people that wanna trade on GTS are fucking tards. They all have darkrai, celebei and <insert other legendary here> for the trade they want. Even dumb pokemon that are like lvl 5 Abra they want a legendary, not worth it.

Not everyone, and with HeartGold you can look for a Pokemon from specific country, which helps finding good trades. And if I ever get frustrated, I'll just ask around Serebii forums or here. :D

You can buy almost all of the evolutionary items with Pokathelon points, which, for me, are easy to get if you can play the minigames well enough. Certain stones can be bought on certain days, and some only after you get to Kanto.
