I don't want to bump the Gen5 thread since this is currently the only active pokemon thread.

Serebii.net is reporting that the upcoming issue of CoroCoro magazine, which releases this April 15th, will contain new information on the upcoming Gen-5 Pokémon games. Before the magazine reaches newstands, however, Pokémon Sunday will be revealing the games in a “shock announcement” on-air.
This highlights an interesting question: are the new games going to be for the 3DS exclusively or will they be compatible with current DS models and the 3DS?
According to a CNBC report, the 3DS announcement was made prematurely by NCL at the expensive of Nintendo of America in order to avoid a potential leak resulting from Japanese press and supplier knowledge of the device. Also, consider the fact that Gen-5 was announced well ahead of the 3DS itself, complete with a new movie tie-in, and is scheduled for release in 2010. This would mean the games have been in development for quite some time.
Taking this information into account, one has to wonder if the newer games were always intended to be presented as DS titles, with 3DS functionality announced at a later date.
Going by common sense, one would assume that an entirely new Pokémon game would launch alongside new hardware, especially in light of rumours of Game Freak being given priority with regard to 3DS developer tools. On the other hand, the company has also been recruiting of late, and the official site recently received an overhaul, which could indicate that they’re only just starting to ramp up for a bigger project, which could be their 3DS game if Gen-5 isn’t it.
The next two weeks are going to be very interesting indeed. CoroCoro information tends to leak before the actual magazine reaches newsstands, so keep an eye out for more info any time between now and the 15th.
Slightly unrelated but I got bored while fighting Lance and thought "heeey why not play this on guitar?!"
So here we go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXAkkQj_qmg
Raped Lance with Darkrai, 403 Sp. Atk you bet.
Hows my Groudon look?
Gentle nature
Drought ability
Strength, SolarBeam, Fissure, Eruption
399 attk
291 def
sp attk 289
sp def 238
spee 230
You've got 110 more attack than special attack, yet your only two decent moves (Strength on a legendary? lolno) are both special based. And instant KO moves? gtfo.
At least get some Earthquake on that bitch. Maybe Fire Punch, would cover your grass and flying weaknesses. You can keep Solar Beam if you really want something to have that's super effective on water types. Final slot go with a decent buffing move, Bulk up/Rock polish/Swords dance, pick one based on how you want to play it.
Or instead of Solar Beam/Fire Punch covering your weaknesses, you could go Thunder Punch/Hammer Arm.
^ yeah your moves could use some work lol
bf bought these for me today at wondercon (pokemon related ofc)
Spoiler: show
Spent the day hatching eggs. I was over 300 charmanders so I released 250 that had shitty stats/natures. Hatched more horseas, got over 80 of those. No shinies to be seen. This isn't looking too well.![]()
It is if you let it and not level grind. Using a legendary is just easy sailing the entire game.
The only real grinding you need to do is maybe for Red. Even then it's not that hard. I say use whatever pokemon you enjoy. So you like how a legendary looks? Use it. You like how Ratticate looks? Use it.
I'm grinding a little bit to beat 2nd lance. Lugia and Mewtwo are on my team. Mewtwo mostly for nostalgia, Lugia will probably be switched out for Snorlax for fighting them.
Looking over Serebii, I went out and found Ice Beam for Mewtwo, so he's going to lance lol. I'm having trouble exploiting his weaknesses with my team at the moment:
Charizard
Raichu
Snorlax
Mewtwo
Aggron
lolHaunter who is disappointing me to no end and is about to be traded to the fucking Redskins >/
Edit: Feraligator is probably going to be my switch for haunter. Alternatively he could be the switch for Mewtwo, since I would like to beat him without using any Legendaries at all.
Is it better to let pokemon evolve? I've been holding my cyndaquil back so it learns moves faster, but I'll prolly use it all the time so that might not matter at this point.
I never held a pokemon back from evolving unless there was a move I really wanted it to learn first.
Yeah, doesn't holding a pokemon back from evolving reduce its overall stat growth in the end? I would only hold a Pokemon back if there's a good move that the unevolved can learn but the evolved can't
Edit: Also, someone from /v/ gave me a Jirachi for free, I was just wondering if its legit? Trainer ID is Gamestp, comes in a Cherish Ball, level 5, holds a Liechi Berry, has Wish, Confusion, Rest and Draco Meteor. If its not legit, will it affect me at all?
Sounds like the real one. Did it unlock the pokewalker course for you? If it's hacked it might not unlock the course, but that's about it, shouldn't affect you otherwise. It may just be cloned.
Does the trainer number have 133337? I got a few of those on my Diamond a few years back from /v/. I got some real legit ones from a guy named Bruno 2 years ago on /v/ I wish he would reappear again.
Mine was from a guy named KaZ, he should be on tonight again on /v/ to give out an Arceus and some other Pokemon. The ID number for Jirachi is 02270. And I haven't looked up how to unlock the Pokewalker course, I've been playing this one without looking at Bulbapedia or Serebii or stuff like that so it would feel newer and more fun.
