I got all 3 of the Shiny Geodudes about 5-7 minutes apart from each other once I hit Chain 40. Once you hit 40 its actually really easy. Its just time consuming and a pain in the ass getting to 20+ four or five times in a row only to have the chain broken or disappear entirely.

Like I said before, I'm actually trying to complete Pokedex with only traded Pokemons, so I'm using GTS alot. I would just post on Serebii and trade with people there, but Serebii forums are so damn slow (because of all the traffic I assume). I will trade with everybody who posts in this thread at some point, but I'd prefer it if every Pokemon had different OT. If I trade with just you guys, I'll probably have about five different OTs for few hundred Pokemons :D
Well then start posting some stuff you need, and stuff you can give an egg away for. I could, preferably, use a Skarmory or Beldum, if you have an egg/baby for one of those. I could give you a level 1 of any gen 4 starter, or one of the 8 billion other level 1's I hatched while breeding various pokemon for certain natures.

I would also be willing to part with them for a Feebas, Gligar, Forretress, Phanphy, or any gen 1-3 starter except Charmander.

I'll start asking for trades this weekend; going to borrow my brother's DS so I can transfer some stuff from Pearl to HG so I will actually have stuff to trade. :D I've been incredibly lazy with catching stuff on HG so I pretty much have nothing except all the Johto starters (Pal Parked my Gale of Darkness Pokemons from Emerald). :D

Edit: The Johto starters were from Colosseum. Got those two mixed up again.

Just traded my male Gligar for a Japanese female Gligar over GTS, I heard about this Masuda method, so if I breed this Gligar with a Ditto or catch another Gligar and breed that, the chance of getting a shiny is 4x greater, right? Does this only work between English and Japanese or Korean Pokemon, or if I trade to a French or German player, will it still count towards Masuda Method?

Is it just me or is it that when you finally do find a person asking for a reasonable pokemon to trade on the GTS and you have that pokemon, 90% of the time it still doesn't let you trade for some reason.

Found a Skarmory asking for Aerodactyl, but both my Aerodactyl's are blacked out and won't let me trade for it. This is bullshit.

So the Ditto also has to be foreign to my cart? Man, I didn't think it was like that from Bulbapedia.

It sounds like the Ditto was traded to the Japanese game, and the Vileplume was caught in the Japanese game, and in the Japanese game they bred the two which would allow the Masuda Method to work. But this isn't correct?

Also Hobo; maybe your Aerodactyl didn't meet gender or level requirements? I haven't had a problem trading any of my Pokemon yet

Sorry I should rephrase lol. It's any two pokemon that are foreign to EACH OTHER language wise.

Japanese Ditto + English whatever. English Ditto + German whatever. And since some foreign countries have the English version of the game, that will not work. It's language based, not region based. Have someone on forums trade you a Japanese ditto, assuming you're playing the English version, and you can breed w/e you want with the Masuda method.

It's b/c they can ask for a specific sex of the pokemon or within a certain level range. If your pokemon doesn't meet every single requirement that they listed, then you can't trade.

    Double posting, I know, sorry.

Didn't have gender requirements, but it sure would be great if they actually showed the level requirements of what people were asking for...

    edit:

You could also use Starmie as a rapid spinner, great moveset for Starmie. Yeah the GTS is shit.

I see a lot of people put Rapid Spin users on teams that really don't need them. Generally speaking, in order of importance for putting a rapid spinner on your team - Does anything have a 4x Rock weakness? If so, you need a rapid spinner. Do you have something that can deal with Toxic Spikes (a poison type) or a number of mons that are immune to it (steel)? If not, you need a rapid spinner. Do you have something that can deal with the most common Spikes users (Skarmory, Forretress)? If no, you need a rapid spinner.

If you managed to answer No-Yes-Yes then odds are you have no need to have a Rapid Spinner on your team. Honestly I hate the move, but without it you render some good mons useless without being able to clear the field.

I just wish there were more useful pokemon that could use Rapid Spin. Generally speaking you're stuck with Starmie, Tentacruel or Forretress. The other pokemon that can use it are broken into not so useful ones (Hitmontop, Blastoise, etc) and a combination of pokemon that you'd never use, or never waste a move slot on on rapid spin.

Blastoise is considered UU, he's okay if you're doing UU matches I guess.

I didn't call Starmie useless, try reading again.

Blastoise on the other hand has a movepool that's too shallow for it to be a strong contender. If you're playing Smogon style with only UU pokemon up against it, he's passable, but in any sort of mixed environment he just gets stomped.

More useful pokemon as in a larger assortment of useful ones. I went on to follow the comment about using those three by saying

The other pokemon that can use it are broken into not so useful ones (Hitmontop, Blastoise, etc) and a combination of pokemon that you'd never use, or never waste a move slot on on rapid spin.
Mentioning those three and then following it with a comment about less useful rapid spinners would, in fact, imply that those three were not a part of the latter classification.

Starmie is good, Natural Cure and his movepool actually make him one of the better semi-bulky Water types, and one of the most effective Rapid Spinners along with Tentacruel and Forretress.
