ABOUT TRICKROOM: Her server is setup to reset itself every hour on the hour, so if you are getting disconnected, try again when the next hour comes in, or 5 minutes after that to avoid the hourly rush.

Arceus's have been the past couple of Sundays, so if you missed it, check again next Sunday. It's the whole Arceus=Jesus theme.

I ran into the same thing when I first watched it. I was thinking, "this is really cool, but I'm not really sure I wanna recommend it to others....just turn the sound off, for your ears' sake".

Most other uploaded online battle captures are just like that too, so it kinda drove me to teach myself online meta-battling rather than endure that kind of earwreck. And it ended up not being worth it because online meta-battling is switching pokemon 20 times until someone gets a crit to take out something, and then bringing in what it countered and sweeping.

His videos are just as tolerable for a shoutcast as is SC2 videos (good ones that is).

As for switching out constantly... that is when you\'re suppose to use tactics. This guy\'s earliest videos even showed that as old as they are where he can predict a switch and get off a boost like Dragon Dance and proceed to sweep and, at times, predict their switch with another boost or changing attack based on what would normally defeat you.

    An example:
Your opponent has a Gengar and you have a Skarmory. Many Gengars carry Thunderbolt so if he isn\'t predicting a switch he\'ll throw out Thunderbolt. If you predict this attack coming, switch to a ground type of Electrivire for the speed boost by getting hit by an electric move (or Jolteon to cancel it/heal it).

    A different example:
YOU have the Gengar and your opponent has a Rotom-W. Gengar is generally faster and your opponent doesn\'t have a Choice Band on his Rotom-W. Ghost is super effective on Ghost so he switches out to a Dark type, Tyrannitar, to absorb the Shadow Ball. However! Since you predicted the switch you went with Focus Blast instead for 4x weakness on Tyrannitar\'s Dark/Rock type.

This is a lot of mind gaming action going on and the examples weren\'t including using Protect to see what move your opponent has and U-Turn to give a nice hit before switching to something else especially if they are Choice\'d and locked in an attack.

I am nowhere near good enough for this type of mentality yet since I\'ve been spoiling myself more so with mono-teams.

I managed to breed a pretty decent Bagon. The reason why I'm writing this, is because I wasn't really going for perfect IVs or anything, I was breeding Bagons with Masuda method in hope of getting a shiny, while breeding a decent one for battling.
This is probably the first Pokemon I have bred that has "superior" stats:
    30 / 30 / 5 / 31 / 25 / 28
The only crappy one is the 5 in Defense, otherwise it's a pretty solid IV spread.

Also, to all the other breeders here; I read from somewhere that the stat inheritance can overlap (meaning that your egg can inherit, for example, Attack stat three times), anybody know if this is true? Because back when D/P where released I was breeding A LOT, I felt that the eggs would always inherit three different stats from the parents.

What level was that Bagon at? It is best to have the pokémon at 25 to have a better view of the IV spread but I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread.

First time I've heard of the overlapping because wouldn't that essentially mean you can max out all IVs if you bred so many times? There is a maximum pokémon can cap out on stats depending on which one it is so three times would be pretty high unless they were low to begin with.

That Bagon is Salamence called Karma now, and completely EV trained, so yeah, those are the actual IVs. They were estimates at the time of it's hatching (I scout IVs by feeding the Pokemon Rare Candy / Iron / Calcium etc. then entering the stats to Metalkid's IV calculator and soft resetting), but I verified them after leveling him.

IVs can range from 0 to 31 in every stat. By overlapping, I meant that the Pokemon can consecutively inherit it's father's
Attack IV as it's first stat (let's say it's 4), mother's Attack IV as it's second (let's say it 30) and then father's Attack IV again as it's third stat. The game calculates all of these, but the Pokemon can only inherit the latest one, which would be 4 in this case. Like I said, I only read about this, but I don't believe this to be true.

Am I the only one who thinks that getting event pokemon and stuff from some guy's fake GTS send-out thing is kinda cheating?

It's a bit easier now. If you know you have a good IV on your breeding Pokemon (for example, my Masuda Ditto has 31 in Sp. Atk, which the Bagon inherited) you can give the Pokemon a corresponding Power item (the ones used for EV training, Power Bracer for Attack and so on) and the Egg will automatically inherit that stat.
So, let's say you have a Ditto with 31 in Sp. Attack, and you are breeding Eevees. You happen to have Eevee with 31 in Speed. If you give the Ditto Power Lens and the Eevee Power Anklet, the Egg will always have 31 in Sp. Atk and 31 in Speed. The only downside is, that you can't control the nature with Everstone. But you can still put Everstone of female to pass the nature, and Power item on the father to pass one IV.

Nope, you are not the only one. I'm also wondering why people don't just flat out PokeSav them if they are willing to take somebody else's duped/PokeSav'd event Pokemon.

Edit: Sorry for the double post.

This statement is correct, the inheritance of stats can actually overlap. Call it a failsafe to prevent two parents with 31's in three different stats from producing offspring with perfect stats at a good ratio. It's annoying but true, and one of the reasons that legit pokemon with a full spread of perfect IVs are nearly impossible.

Ah, interesting. I always assumed that the Pokemon would inherit three different stats no matter what (and that only three stats would ever be "rolled"). Guess I have even crappier luck than I thought :D Back in D/P I remember breeding Heracrosses, with both parents having two perfect IVs, yet the offspring always ended up with only one 31 and they either rolled 1-10 in most stats, or ended up inheriting 1-5 stat IVs from parents.

In any case, the Power item IV passing is making breeding much easier, and greatly increases the odds of having "perfect IVs".

Trickroom is hosting the event-friendly Celibi (note that this Celibi is a hacked Pokemon designed to emulate the 13th movie Celebi recently released) that unlocks the Giovanni stuff in HGSS. Get it now!

    Yeah, no it isn't.
This was posted by Alice on Trickroom forums:

This Celebi is manual rebuild of the 13th movie Celebi but it's not perfect yet and so not legit.

The only legit pokemon are the Nintendo Event pokemon like Arceus an Pikachu-colored Pichu.
So yeah, you can fool yourself but you can't fool the rest of us, they are hacked Pokemons.
