I watched Pokemon The First Movie with my little cousin before to show him what pokemon we had when I was his age....and I fucking dropped a few tears at the end cuz of what happens to Ash.....fml.
What a pansy D: Lol
I remember that. I think they gave out free Mew pokemon cards or someshit. Those were the days, when metagaming wasn't king.
Just beat Lance. Team was Meganium, Rhyperior, Kingdra, Togekiss, Growlithe, and Electrode.
Caught the electrode at the rocket hideout, didn't think much to level him up, and was thinking of dumping him for a better 6th after I get to kanto, but man. He saved my ass against Lance by taking out his Gyarados with a crit charge beam and finishing off an outraging dragonite with swift. I just love how fast he is. He's earned a spot on my team, for damned sure. lol
Even my little growlithe came in handy for some of the elite, with reversal, fire fang and his intimidate.
I don't think I ever even watched that movie, now that I think about it. Vaguely remember the card from commercials, but yeah.
Although looking at the release date, that would've been my freshman year in HS iirc, so it doesn't surprise me that I don't remember this at all.
Shit, I'll admit it: I saw it in the theater (got the Electabuzz and Mewtwo cards from that), and then purchased the VHS, and proceeded to watch it every day after school for nearly three months.
Mewtwo Strikes Back remains the best of the franchise.
Okay, n00b Pokeman player here with a question, please be gentle.
I haven't played a Pokemon game since Pokemon Yellow way back in...2000 I think? But all this talk of HeartGold and SoulSilver has got me on a nostalgic kick. I was thinking about getting back into it, but before I do I wanted to be assured of one thing first. Part of this nostalgia kick is me wanting to reunite my old team (Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbasaur, Sandshrew, and Spearow ohhhhh the memories) and going on a new adventure. Would it be possible to obtain all of these Pokemon in HG/SS without having to trade another person? Because I live in Bum Fuck Egypt where nobody ever played Pokemon but me, even as a kid, so I never had anyone to trade with. For what I am looking for, would HG/SS be a good choice or would I be better off trying to find Fire Red or Leaf Green on amazon or something?
Once you beat the game and beat Red, Professor Oak will give you one of the original 3 starters, so you'd have to trade at some point. If you've got a DS lite and FireRed or LeafGreen, you can Pal Park to get them once you get farther in the game as well. That way you wouldn't have to trade.
hmm... well, pikachu you can catch at viridian forest after you beat the gold/silver gym leaders and the elite four, but it takes a while to get that far into the game.
also, after you do some other shit.. i think it was 16 badges, you get to choose one of the red/blue/yellow starters, so you can only get one
sandshrew and spearow are both catchable, and if you're desperate you can always trade for charm/bulba/squirt on wifi. i'd recommend hg/ss, but if you got money to spare try out fr/lg too... i played it 2 years after it came out but it was still damn fun lol
Platinum and HG/SS if your doing DS games..
Platinum is a bit tougher than D/P though so be prepared.
I need someone to battle against for testing purposes.
Question, with the Safari Zone and those pokemon you need to "wait" X days in order for them to appear. Can you just change the clock in the GB and rocket ahead 100 days? I want a Gible so I can eventually get a Garchomp, but the only way of getting one is waiting a huge amount of days to get one. If there is no other way, fuck that mess.
Also, does someone have a good guide that explains the Safari Zone layout system, they all look.. weird and I'm not sure I get the layout with items.
Check out www.serebii.net. They have a fairly extensive guide to the Safari Zone under the Soul Silver/Heart Gold area.
