I didnt change any DNS setting i just connected threw my Nintendo USB key.

So i go into GTS, and when i clicked the computer and it said <checking GTS status< and then the traded music started and i saw the animation of receiving a pokeball, and inside it had a lv 5 chikorita

Haha, I saw that! I got a Magikarp with the berry to resist electric attacks, a Beldum with the berry to resist ground attacks, and a horsea with a uh.. dragon scale thinger.

Magikarp has actually been able to learn bounce off of move tutors since Platinum, but it's nice to see one with it by default. Even though I can't ever imagine Gyarados making use of it.

Nope. Gotta see 'em. Get a friend to breed you one or just show you one in battle/trade so you can ask for it on GTS.

Yeahhh, I've always had a major problem with the GTS for this reason (as I'm sure 99% of other people that play Pokemon have as well). Makes pretty much no sense to only be able to get pokemon you've seen or caught already, since you're most likely wanting to use the GTS for ones you don't have. >.>

Agreed, also I have so many pokemon on my pearl cart that I want to xfer when I get around to buying HG and I dont have 2 DS systems

I think someone told me you can transfer stuff from other carts onto your game with the PalPark? or is that only with older GBA games. If so..that bites. You'd need a real good friend to help ya transfer all that stuff, Haha.

You can always put your pokemon on GTS asking for something specific that you have on HG and quickly get on HG to make the trade. I'm PRETTY sure that works. I could be wrong.

Also, yeah, PalPark is only the GBA games.

I'm not a fan of Flareon. Its highest stat is Attack, but it's strongest physical STAB move is Fire Fang at a pretty lame base 65 dmg. Overall, I would say one of the better fire types for competitive battling would be Heatran. Heatran's Def, SpDef and SpAtk are all high (over 100), it takes normal damage from Stealth Rock, it's immune to Sandstorm, immune to all Fire type attacks AND it gets a power bonus when he gets hit with them! It has a pretty large move pool too- good move set would be....

Choice Scarf/Expert Belt
Flamethrower/Fire Blast
Dragon Pulse
Earth Power
Explosion

Extra speed from Scarf is always welcome, Flamethrower for acc, Fire Blast for destroying shit, Dragon Pulse for revenge killing Kingdra/Salamence, Earth Power for other Fire types, and Explosion for destroying more shit. If you don't want to use a Scarf, I would say use an Expert Belt over a Life Orb to trick your opponents into thinking you're Scarf'd.

Flareon really should have gotten Blaze Kick or Flare Blitz(whatever that 120 physical fire move is). :\

Don't think so- Scyther can't learn Bullet Punch since Scizor has to learn it via trading a heart scale iirc.

Yeah I guess- I never really dicked around with Scizor much, but what you're suggesting is totally possible.
