The Butterfree face-raped half the Dark Elite Four's Pokemon singlehandedly, starting with her Umbreon. I was surprised, forgot Bug > Dark.

Umbreon owned my entire team with double team/confuse ray. My amphy couldn't land focus blast/signal beam worth of shit.

The rest was pretty much Gyrados sweep with Dragon Dance <33

Technician Scizor with Bullet Punch is so much win imo. I evolved mine at level 1 when I started SS. (Also he looks more badass then Scyther)

Oddly enough, one case where Butterfree's ability came into play.

130% accurate Bug Buzz from Compoundeyes = fuck you Double Teamer. Umbreon couldn't evasion boost fast enough to avoid getting wrecked.

Lol. I beat the E4 some time ago. My group consisted of uh..

45 Houndoom
43 Golem
43 'Buzz (Need to evolve him like woah)
40 Kingdra
40ish fully evolved grass starter (Chikorita)

Pretty much had to cheese Lance. I'd damage his Dragonite, throw Golem in, Explosion, repeat. Rest was all pretty easy. Lucario owned the dark type bit with Swords Dance + Punch power.Was fairly awesome.

Was a bit hard with the whole 'not having psychic/dragon/proper ice type' for Lance and Bruno, but eh. Dark Pulse from Houndoom actually did quite a bit too his Dragonites. Delicious special attack power.

Power levelled my team on the E4 for a bit, finally decided to take them to town. Kicked the shit out of them with:

Dragonair L53 (now Dragonite!)
Typhlosion L47
Allakhazam L55
Ampharos L40
Gyrados L31 (HM whore)

Dragonair swept Will's team, Typhlosion/Alla destroyed Koga, Alla swept Bruno, heavy mix up for Karen, and Lance was another mix up fight.

Next on my list: Salamence.

I have three HM Slaves. Lugia is my Fly HM slave, Shiny Gyrados is my Surf/Waterfall/Whirlpool HM Slave (<3), and Tauros is my Strength/Rock Smash/Surf/Waterfall HM Slave. My grass starter has Cut.

I know I could use Tauros or something else as an HM slave, but.. I just haven't used Gyrados in ages. :/ That and it was a shitty nature so I didn't feel like raising it at all.

I still need to get my Scyther evolved to Scizor, train my Abra/Dratinis, and work on my adamant natured Bagon.

Bit of a bump here, but I think the BG pokemon experts could help me out.
Yesterday morning I caught a shiny machop, my first shiny i've seen in the entire game. Problem is, I think he sucks. I'm not a fan of fighting pokemon and after looking at Machamp's move pool I dont think I'm a fan of machamp >.> I also caught this thing at level 28, so i think i've already missed out on ~25 levels worth of extra stats? I'm not much of a hardcore pokemon player, but I do try to get the best I can for my team.

Shiny Machop lv 28, Quiet, Likes to Thrash, Guts Ability(of course my shiny one has the WORST ability)
ATK58, DEF41, SPA36(higher than my 32 machoke...), SPDf25, SPD25

No need to post his movepool. But yeah, I'm no expert but this machop does suck right? Guts is a terrible ability compared to No guard and his attack seems low(unless the jump to machokelv32 is THAT high). Is there anything I can do with this thing? Is there any "shiny gene" where I can save/reset an egg about 1000 times to get another shiny machop?

Stats are all dependent on EVs which you can read about here. You won't be able to figure out its Individual Values until its at least level 50 and you use one of the online calculators.

Shinyness is totally random with the exception of breeding the Pokemon with another from a foreign version of the game (I.E. a Japanese Ditto).

Guts isn't AWFUL... its just not as awesome as No Guard- With Guts, you should focus on a Choice Band set that's something like this:

252 HP/ 252 Atk/ 4 Speed

Close Combat
Payback
Ice Punch
ThunderPunch / Bullet Punch

I prefer bullet punch because priority moves = win, but Thunder Punch will give you total type coverage.

Yeah.. hell, at least you found a damn shiny. I haven't seen shit and I've been breeding pokes like a motherfucker :/

Either way.. yeah, Guts is terrible compared to No Guard. With No Guard, he'd be an okay lead with DYNAMIC PAWNCH action, but alas. 50 hit rate will do you no good. I'd follow the setup listed in the above post for sure. Seems your best bet with your shiny. Grats on it, btw.

Oh, also.. I have a friend (Zealot actually) who sent me over a pokemon with the Pokerus virus (the one that doubles EVs gained) and if anyone on here at BG needs a poke with the virus, lemme know and I'll gladly ship you one.

Also, with IVs, you can sort of figure them out. If you have a particular phrase on the area where you check nature.. something like "Alert to Sounds" or whatever, it can be a specific IV. What I usually do when I breed is save, use my 11 rare candies I have to get it to 12, and then see it's range of IVs there, and if it has something like uh.. Mischievous, then it has a chance of having a perfect 31 to the Special Attack IV (I have a Charmander and Houndour that are both Modest/Mischievous with 31 SpA IV) so yeah.

Then obviously if you wanted, you could breed two pokes together, female holding an everstone to have a chance of passing down it's nature (say if you wanted Modest) and then the other poke holding one of the Battle Frontier items that passes down it's IV.. you have a chance of obviously getting another one of those 'Alert to Sounds' phrases to go along with the perfect 31 SpA IV you have.

Either way.. I use http://www.psypokes.com/dex/iv.php <--- this calculator for IVs, and then there's some EV guides out there that list the best trainers/pokemon you can fight for EVs. IMO, it makes the game more tedious, but more fun too.
