Bumping this for some pokemon event at gamestop, went to pre order FFXIII and saw a poster saying you can download jirachi from their wifi for those people interested.

they had pikachu-colored pichu a couple weeks ago right before jirachi, which I made fun of while talking to the employee at gamestop. Then I pulled out my DS and downloaded the pichu. The pichu allows you to encounter the spikey eared pichu in gold/silver. I didn't check if jirachi opens any secrets. Too lazy to check right now if someone else knows/wants to look into it.

The jirachi unlocks a new area for the pokewalker called Edge of the Nights Sky, has a chance you give you a Psychic TM, making it one of the better areas I think.

EDIT: You can now get the pikachu-colored pichu from nintendo wifi! I didn't really care that I missed it at gamestop, but now I don't have to do shit to get it, so wtf, why not?

Not really, I have two friends with every single pokemon, save arceus(which I can't get anyways since I don't have platium), so if I really wanted every single pokemon, I'd have them by now.

I have 398 hours clocked in on Diamond and all I mostly did was action replay stuff for people. I don't plan on doing it for this, unless I actually need something as bad as I did then, but we'll see.

I don't use the cheats for things like stats or move sets, that's too far if you plan to use it in competition imo. I only use it to catch wild Pokemon that I like to have in my team early. I like to have squirtle, staryu etc all the ones that usually take forever to get (squirtle towards mid/end and staryu idk where can fish it up at).

Just a little heads up about the Pokewalker. Your Pokemon can only earn enough experience to level up once while in the Pokewalker then it won't gain anymore until you transfer back to the game and then to the Pokewalker again.
When your Pokemon levels up if it was due to learn an attack, it will not learn it. =/

Otherwise it's a great little method of catching Pokemon you can't usually get until later in the game. I caught a Doduo, Magby, Slowpoke & Staryu on the Pokewalker when I first started playing and I only had 2 badges at the time. =)

A little tamagatchi thing with a pedometer built in. It'll let you get pokemon with weird movesets and some little items~

Oh that is kinda lame... I always hated giving pokemon I cared about to the daycare cause they make them learn retarded move sets lol. I guess you can always just go to the move deleter/teacher and he can teach past moves again.

Yeah it froze for me once after I left the second town where you get running shoes but then I did a update for the official software and it worked perfectly so far.

Dumb question but is there any preference for Silver or Gold? Never played the original ones specifically

Only difference I remember aside from a few select pokemon is that Lugia is level 100 in the Silver version and Ho-oh is level 100 in the Gold version. Maybe they changed it though. : p

Lugia is Lv45 in Silver & Lv70 in Gold. Ho-oh is Lv45 in Gold & Lv70 in Silver.

You can catch both in each version however, Kyogre can only be caught in Gold and Groudon in Silver. =)
