    No the mario 3 reference is better. I never actually beat battletoads. And Double Dragon + Battletoads for SNES was annoying.

    There's good random. Like random enemy spawn points you can react to, or random upgrades dropping. Random 1 shot deaths is bad random.

    One shot character deaths usually happen in the begining, when it doesn't matter as much since you can remake in 3 seconds. Doesn't happen later on (as much).

    What would you say is a good game then? Skill is important, but there has to be some luck/random involved or else I won't want to play it again.
    Devil May Cry 3, Tales of Eternia, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike.

    Those are the greats as far as I'm concerned.
    I haven't played DMC4, so I don't know if it's as good.
