Didn't see these, apology if repost loved all three. Played the hell out of the first two as a child and I still really enjoy playing them to this day for some reason. It's oddly atmospheric. The music is sublime and sets the mood very strongly, and for a game which appears marketed to children it is rather crushingly hard and moreso... somewhat creepy. It plays strongly on themes of isolation and being alone, and it used to scare me a bit

Defender of the Future is completely different in terms of atmosphere, but I still really enjoyed it. Quite hard too. I can understand a lot of the criticism it received though.

I might actually beat it this time, I got past the three fountains for the second time ever. although the fucking Dwarf that flies and shoots fireballs tears me apart in about five hits, not sure I'll be able to beat him unless I go back and grind for Death and the Magic Shield. which feels like cheating. :/
