And I've done that, stopped killing PHs, forcing people that show up and try to just stand around and do nothing to start killing PHs themselves. Tends to either have them leave because they're too ADD to handle it, or at least level the playing field where we're both killing PHs and trying to claim.

I remember looking for the cook book in Sacarium for my weekly miratete scroll. As I was approaching one of the rooms I see a dead party and the swift belt NM at 3% So I nuked it with Thunder II, swift belt!!!

Needless to say I was barraged with angry /tells from the party that I should have let it despawn!! rofl! xD

LL popped, I killed, no boots. 45 minutes later, it pops again, and some random @#$(*% gets to it before I do. What the fuck is my problem? Am I destined to never get the boots? This, I've had JPs do this to me all the time. It's especially annoying when they bring friends/ls to camp minor NMs like valkurm emperor, and have some person with voke completely dedicated to following me... If it's just one dude you can obviously just stop killing the PH.

Now people will just fuck whomever they please and know that they'll never have to face any consequences for it.

Oh and on an unrelated yet relevant note: the other day I accidentally bought a Dragon Fruit for 160k thinking it was a Dragon Heart. I sent a short obligatory "Excuse me. Auction House mistake :X Delivery Box Please check it." /tell to the seller and he met me 45 seconds later at my MH and gave me the gil back. Not everyone in-game is an asshole. I gave him back like an extra 20k for the fruit as a reward for his kindness.

lol, I was thinking the same thing. Just buy the fucking boots and sell them back when you're done with them. In the worst case you loose a bit of money (just consider it a rental fee). In the best case you come out even or make money. What's there to loose?

This is FFXI. People will do whatever they can to increase their chances of getting a NM drop even if it is lollizzy. Hell when I camp those small time NM 1v1 I usually make a point of standing right on top of my competition so I always have a chance to beat him to the claim.

Also this aint got shit on the people who used to camp Megalobugard for 5+ hrs, killing the wrong placeholder, only to see me come and claim after killing one PH. Do they get pissed? hell ya. Does anyone care about childish rantings based around virtual monsters that spawn almost every hour.... No.
