On the fence after playing the demo... on whether to buy or Gamefly it. I had originally just planned on a rental, but now I don't know. Guess I could finish some of my other games i have lying about and sell em... hmm.

Well you only get 2 out of the 12 or so powers your get in the actual game, who knows there may be some more melee moves in there as well
I doubt there will be any more melee, don't really care much since I won't use them, don't see any really reason to when the shockwave is more effective at that range.
Played the demo, thought it was pretty cool. Most of the appeal for me will probably come from running around the city just fking shit up, unless the story deviates from "kill xx amount of generic bad guys". I thought the wall climbing was particularly good, most of the time. Certainly looks like a solid rental if not a purchase.
The trailer at the end was pretty awesome too.
Yea after playing the demo, this definitely shot up my hype list. I personally wasn't a GTA 4 fan, but this feels like it...but better lol- I love the fact that it isn't realistic, and you can just run around fucking shit up. This is going to be a great game :3
Liked the demo was fun to mess around with full game will be even better. I did more melee attacks than I should have but there are maybe 4+ melee attack animations but their might be more idk.
Just picked up my copy, install took about a minute, it's exactly 1.3 gigs.
actual game install is 1.3gigs, most retailers got in on thursday just cant sell till tuesday
The guy playing is awful. Game doesn't look particularly interesting so far, I think I'll be waiting til it's cheaper before I pick it up, though I am a bit starved for games at the moment.
Anyone else feel slightly underwhelmed by the demo when you're given the opportunity to do some free-roaming? Feels like GTA but without the opportunity for mayhem.
You can hit the rails and throw grenades everywhere but it's just not the same.
Yeah, for a game where the city is supposed to be alive, I found it silly that I could cause mass destruction and have no penaltys for it. This game has no sense of danger and it kind of makes you feel too 'super', I think. GTA had cops, military, helicopters that would react to what you did; here, people run up to you to snap pictures.
No, I'm talking about the actual game, and the only penalty for killing pedestrians is that you slide towards the evil side.
Started on hard, you start the game with the regular lightning bolt, was weird getting used to that after starting with most of the powers in the demo.
I decided to go for good on my first playthrough, evil just felt too easy.
Edit: Also when you're evil pedestrians will throw rocks at you and hit you.
Just from the demo, I can see what you're saying. But I guess I just felt that part of that was due to the story, since it does take place in a quarantined, consequently relatively lawless city.

almost here! cant wait :D
I like this game enough to make it the 3rd software purchase for my PS3. Go go platforming. This game is tony hawk with super powers, and no stupid skateboarding or tony hawk. IOW it's what Mirror's Edge should have been![]()
