I'm a little bit late on this one, but lol trufax. Everybody on the planet has had that "epic" first love (or even a few) and the revelation a year later about how stupid they were to think it was epic. Been in 5 relationships total in my 20 years, 1 of which wasn't worth half a shit, 1 which in the end was just more or less friends trying to be GF/BF, and three that on my part were "love" at least for awhile, but it's only really the most recent of the three was/has been ACTUALLY a reasonable relationship without the "OMG we're so special we're gonna be married with a boy and a girl named Dick and Jane in a couple years" bullshit that comes with a lot of young love. Probably because I'm 20 and he's 27 and we've both been "those people" already and know how fucking lame we were. ><
damn, your BF robbed the cradle.
I think based on your quote alone you're a perfect example of someone who is 20, isn't a total fucking idiot, and may know what they actually feel because of something called experience. Age is a secondary factor and even then you still have a ways to go (yes, you are in the exact same situation as I am).
Ha ha, also true.I guess I might be generalizing too much, but I'm typically not that impressed by or attracted to guys "my own age" (though I could say the same thing for girls). Being knowledgeable about the "real world" (I guess you could call it that) and having sufficient relationship experience. Partying or experimenting and things like that aren't what I'm looking for in my boyfriend. Not that those things are bad or unacceptable, but I want someone more grounded. I don't really see the age as a number anyway; he's just a person with the qualities I want, regardless of age (though there's probably a bit of a correlation between age and those particular qualities; see: maturity). Quite a few girls I went to high school with went this route actually, now that I think about it.
Edit: Though none of that stops us from teasing each other about the age difference; ex.) him pointing out toddler clothes and saying "I bet you could fit into that"/telling me he'll have to turn me in for a younger model when I hit 21 or me calling him gramps/a pedo.
This was probably stated before, as I've only read the initial post and some of the ones following.
You're 19 (or 20?), regardless of your age, 2 years from now you are going to LOL at all this because it will either be fixed or you'll be with a new girl, until then go grab yourself a beer, cheers.
