My husband and I got married young; I was 21 and he was 24. We've been together for two years now, and I honestly have to say this is one of the worst decisions you can possibly make as a young person. I thought I was ready for this kind of relationship, but I find myself resentful and angry that I wasn't able to experience more before getting into this kind of long-term commitment.

I had to learn a lot of things about him the hard way because we weren't in a position to live together for any amount of time before tying the knot. Living together is the ultimate litmus test of any relationship you can possibly have. If you think you love someone, just try to coexist under the same roof with them for at least 2 years. You may find that their nasty little habits you didn't know about until you started living with them are a dealbreaker, which is much better to find out beforehand.

Don't do what I did. I honestly would not be able to talk to you in person, look you in the face, and tell you that my marriage is a decision I have no regrets about. If I could do things differently, I don't think I ever would have gotten married to this person. There are a lot of conversations about expectations that need to be had. You need to know what that other person truly wants of you, be sure of what you want out of them, and ultimately have some idea of whether you're both capable of meeting those expectations. She expects you to get a job to support her, but what do you expect out of her? It sounds like you don't have any kind of criteria for her to meet other than "don't fuck around," and honestly that should just go without saying in any monogamous relationship.

Personally, I think you should dump her and move on. She needs extensive work on her selfishness to be a suitable partner for anyone. Also, it's incredibly difficult to have a relationship with someone whose extended family dislikes you. For me personally, that's a dealbreaker in itself, because I want to be able to have a healthy relationship with my in-laws. Holidays and family gatherings should not be a source of stress because you're being judged and there's some kind of drama-driven plot at every event. Her mom alone has ruined her chances with you.

Drop the fucking bitch before you ruin your life. Blunt but it's the truth, been there and done that, don't let it happen to you.

Get rid of her, and never date anyone under 21. Anyone younger is just an immature drama bitch. Well, I take that back, go for 30+.

To sum it up, she just wants some different dick.

This kind of story happens constantly, and 99% of the time it's just b/c they want to see what else is out there.

You can drive yourself crazy over it, or just suck it up and go find some strange yourself and forget about her.

If you're lucky you can have the last laugh when she gets herpes two weeks after you split up or gets pregnant by a 16yr old dude when she's 22. (True stories. I still get a chuckle out of it.)

Clearly nobody cared about your opinion. Isn't that an amazing turn of events?

She just tells me that she loves me still, but wants to be single. Everything was all happy day when I saw her saturday but last night on the phone she wanted to end it for good then decided to wait a few weeks until she gets back from Greece. I don't know what to do, shit pisses me the fuck off.
Bad news: She wanted to fuck other dudes in Greece and called for the "break", then you acted like a baby about it so she wants to dump you!

Anytime someone creates a topic about how shitty their boyfriend/girlfriend is, it opens the floodgates for everyone to talk about how much their love life sucks too. And then collective Doctor BG chimes in about how everyone in the topic is a fucking moron who sucks at relationships.

wtf though, seriously...when I was 16 I was too busy thinking about how to master the scimitars like drizzt did, or how to unlock super sayian powers with my mind....
Seriously. Compared to when we were younger, kids now are fucked up.

Are you guys serious? I was horny as hell when I was 16 and trying so desperately to convince my ex the merits of sex.
