I agree with most of that actually Dim. The show as a whole is pointless. Whether someone wins or not has no effect on their career other than adding a line to their resume. The judges are often completely and undeniably wrong. The producers toss in more and more plants every year, (last year there was a fucking grammy nominee in it).

In the end I'd say there's maybe 2 memorable performances a season and that's about it.

I'll typically root for the one or two people with legitimate talent, or the hot chicks and that's about it.

Last week Friday, we were sort of expecting a normal day until my boss comes in and starts saying about how Danny Gokey was going to be in Milwaukee, since apparently he's from here. Now normally this would be fine with me. Except for the fact that the city of Milwaukee decided to declare that Friday "Danny Gokey day."

I was hoping that this celebratory shit would have stuck to downtown and over by Miller Park, but nope, they had to pull a whole load of shit by the Lakefront and south Milwaukee. The first sign was when we went to lunch. We normally go to a restaurant by the airport every Friday. Well, we went to the Rocky's by the church he apparently sings at. We get there and it was swamped by a crowd consisting of the people I hate. Luckily, it appeared to be a mass exodus as everyone was leaving, or trying to leave.

Get done with lunch and we go back. A coworker cries out in despair as he just got roped into going to see Danny Gokey perform at the Lakefront with his wife and kids, but he managed to squeak out the schedule before he prepared for ritual suicide (him and his kids later bailed on his wife). Schedule was parade at about 4:00 downtown to Lakefront, then concert at 5:15, and from there he goes to sing the national anthem at Miller Park for the Brewers vs. the Cubs.

My boss shits himself because he has to drive past Miller Park to get home, and he brought his motorcycle in that day (Cubs fans and Danny Gokey fans would make for one big clusterfuck). I go "OH SHI-" because I drive down the Lakefront to go home, and even if I were to get out to I-43, traffic would be congested due to all the people from Chicago coming up and everyone trying to get downtown. Had to leave south Milwaukee before 3:00 or else I was fucked. Try explaining to a bunch of germans that you're getting on the road now not to be fucked over later. We wished one of them good luck because he had to drive that way.

TL;DR: Fuck Danny Gokey.

I liked Matt G. the best out of the guys, he seemed to have the most natural talent.

Adam is overly trained in musical theater, it shows, and I fucking hate most musical theater majors, so he irritates me off the bat. Then like you said he's just really fucking good at screaming.

Danny is a decent vocalist, but god he just seems like the biggest douche I want to choke the shit out of him.

Kris I like, he's got a Mraz like style and I'm cool with that. He doesn't try too hard and shit. He'll never make it though the judges wont let it happen by talking shit after every performance.
