reseat the heatsink, install RAID/SATA drivers during windows install
For the CPU - did you use the thermal paste correctly, if at all? What kind did you use? Make sure not to put too much. Is the heatsink screwed on correctly? What temperatures are you getting?
For the HD - Is it hooked up correctly via SATA cables and is receiving power? When you turn the computer on, can you feel/hear it spinning up or is it dead? Do any other hard drives work? Does the BIOS see anything?
did you use thermal paste?
Like others have said, for the CPU re-check the fan to make sure it is seated correctly. Also make sure you did not use too much thermal paste (if you used any at all)
as for the hard drive, has this one worked before or fresh out of box? Have you re-checked all the cables including sata/power cable? Have you tried a different cable?
and another question: what temps do you consider overheating? 60C is hot, but not insane if you're under load. ambient temp?
My CPU got to 97F, which is not good at all.
Also, I figured it out, thanks guys.
(Heatsink wasn't on correctly and cables were in wrong spots)
There's nothing wrong with 97F....
Running "hot" underload at 60C is 140F.... so you have a large range before you have anything to worry about.
