    DRG spellcast

    Hi all, I just recently got 75 drg and I'm curious if anyone has a good drg spellcast I could possibly take and edit? Ideally one with TP, WS, healing breath precast and midcast etc. I've tried editing the ones posted on windower.net but am having 0 luck with them.

    half of the ones posted in that forum don't work. try a couple till you find one that workd BEFORE you edit it (this may take some time...). read the stickies/guides and keep it simple at first till you've got an idea what you're doing. it's pretty straightforward once you get your teeth around it.

    You're going to have to make your own.

    I used them for awhile but found them to be a bit clunky for drg, especially since windower macros work so well once you have a system down (I found healing breath macros with windower much more accurate than spellcast, and I had a very good spellcast script for pre-mid cast). I'd recommend not using spellcast for drg, but if someone has figured out a 'perfect xml' file, I'd love to see it.

    If you're looking for full optimization, I think the Breaths would be the toughest part. Hopefully someone else can answer this for me (probably Aikar or Xanthe), but is there a way for it to work in tandem with your pet (ie when="precast (pet)")? Or is the scripting strictly relegated to the player?

    Everything else, such as macro swaps for weaponskill/engage/rest/(pre/mid/after)cast would be a piece a cake.

    Yeah sorry, I should explain a bit better. I've made my own spellcast that includes tp, weapon skills, idle gear etc. The toughest part as you've said is with the breaths. Thanks for the suggestion on using a windower macro for the breaths. Would you mind sharing yours with me?

    My breath gear is pretty standard really: drg af legs (nq just dinged 75 and dropped my 2 items a while back), jse body, af helm, homam feet, HP gear for me and of course af2 helm for midcast. This is causing me the most trouble and it's giving me a bit of a headache which is a bad thing seeing as this is supposed to be a break from Law studying. Any help here would be MUCH appreciated.

    Could put it all in one windower script and just put //exec healing.txt or whatever, I only use extended macros for equip sets though. That's just personal prefferance.

    Don't see the need for a Drg spellcast. Most stuff can be done with pretty simple macros. Not as if we have ele obis to worry about or such.
    I guess you could use it to know when to use virtue stones or diablos earring or something but eh.

    just double slash whichever one I don't need.

    I highly recommend against using windower waits and pauses between the 3 sections of an HB macro as if you mistrigger and have to hit your macro a second time all the gear swaps will continue to go off in the middle of your second trigger and you risk having the wrong gear on for each section. If you use 3 script files separated by standard in game waits further parts will not proc if you have to hit your macro multiple times.

    I would think the only thing you'd need to use Spellcast for is if you macroed in Drake Ring no? I don't know too much about Spellcast, so yeah.

    I basically use it because after having it for whm, sch and blm I'm a bit addicted to it really. Thanks for some of the ideas. I'll send that chap a PM in a while. I basically went to Lv70 drg through East Ron (s) so never actually had the chance to use healing breath, so I'm getting to grips with all of it now.

    Aye, I agree but unfortunately you can't do that with G11/G15 macros... I really should get around to doing both, but this works well enough for me

    By popular demand, here is my drg.xml. It's a few weeks old since this is the only copy I have on hand at work and I've been going back and forth on various equipment choices, but you're mainly interested in rules anyway. For the record, with how I have it set up now spellcast handles healing breath better than windower macros ever did. The only way I could improve it if there was a party member hp % condition available to avoid unnecessary equipment swaps (there hasn't been one that I've seen at least as of 2.22). It's only set up for /whm triggers at the moment, but it's simple enough to add other spells. Let me know if you have any questions.

    I noticed that you're using the WS names for your sets, but then you're using if branches for every weaponskill to adjust your sets. Couldn't you just simplify that a fuckton by doing (still using 2.2 conventions)

    I'm using your version of the Healing Breath for my own, and I'm finding that it's not equipping the Wyrm Armet fast enough to get its benefits. Could that be based on lag?

    EDIT: Scratch that, found errors otherwise.

    Hey thanks for the spellcast. Quick question. What sort of healing breath numbers am I going to be looking at with very similar gear to yours? Main thing I am lacking is af legs+1. I'm seeing some 510s right now but that seems kind of low. Not sure if the delays are working for me etc.

    One problem with macroing in wyvern hp gear is that it sometimes procs and sometimes doesn't. This is especially true if you macro in full hp gear first then go for wyvern hp as the gear has less time to fully proc. You can see this by watching your wyvern's hp bar as your macro progresses and notice that it can sometimes take a pretty long time to display a change.

    If your curious what your hb's should be doing you can compare your gear on the wiki page. Healing Breath - FFXIclopedia - a Wikia Gaming wiki

    This will explain some details about exactly how hb's function and how much each one affects your HB's.

    I think the biggest issue is with the AF+1 legs since it has to calculate the HP bonus. I don't know about spellcast, but from what I know, macroing HP+ items before HP+% items is more reliable.
