Spellcast Help Thread (Link your XML using Pastebin.com for help!)

I'm looking for a starting template to use with basically all jobs. I don't need help switching spells/sets/etc around, I just want something with those functions/variables already setup. By spell int. down I mean swapping midcast in and out of an interrupt rate down/defensive set. For max mp I mean using max mp gear in the idle set only when it's relevant. For example, on a caster I'd generally like to idle in ethereal earring, but if my mp is at max I might as well be wearing something like loq. earring in that slot for the 30 extra mp. I also don't want to go from full max mp starting gear and just have all of it swapped out in the first cast, losing hundreds of mp.

spellcast isn't working in macros post-update. It still works by typing the commands in chat, but macroing them it isn't doing anything.

yea my poor smn macros aren't working and it keeps switching back to my idle gear when an avatar is out, which its never done before

You need to update to the latest version of Spellcast. Check the Windower forums.

the newest version of spellcast still work through macros. Typing it chat log does though.

Having an issue with spellcast, ive updated windower and spellcast both and they work fine on my main but not on my alt running off the same box. Im getting a 126 module not found on my altwhen I try to load spellcast, but it works just fine on my main, any suggestions?

That works for using scripts, but not for what I'm trying to do for spellcast. Unless I'm not adding that line in the right spot for my macro.

What I have is a macro to change group sets, for example.

I use to have a macro saying: //sc group Thief
This does nothing now after update.

But if I type in chat log //sc group Thief it works fine. Everyone in my LS has the same issue so I don't see how more people not noticing this.. lol

/sc group works. Get rid of the extra /

This problem was noted in alot of places. Noticably in the windower issue thread, and general changes after the update thread. And solutions were offered there as well.

And /console sc group works too as others have suggested. You seem to think that solution was only related to the script, it is not. sc is a <command>.

So... nobody uses spellcast with their BST? this is like my 8th gagillion time asking, i will send you a picture of me eating mexican chilli candy if i can get a semi-up-to-date BST xml from someone.... pls ?

I don't have either of those except for cures (I think?), but you'll have to test the cure part for me as well. I can give you the codes to add though.

If you're familiar with spellcast, you can change it up so that your cast goes from Fastcast Gear > Spell interruption gear > Relevant gear > Idle gear by adding a variable.
Variable section:
<var name="SpellINT">0</var>

For each magic type:
<command>sc var setcalc SpellINT %CastTime - 0.5</command>

You can change the 0.5 to whatever, but the basic idea is to take the cast time of the spell and subtract an amount from that. The remainder will constitute the amount of time you spend in Spell Interruption gear. Two important notes, 1) this only sets the SpellINT variable amount, so it will change from 0 to whatever is the amount listed in the variable. You then need to call upon this variable using $SpellINT and 2) I would only use it for spells above a certain casting time (Use <if CastTimeGT="Seconds here"> to do that).

I was looking to make an SC for every class, but that idea got overlooked due to the update/subsequent breaks in SC.

Anyone got a working Artemis/Ugga rule? I'm using one that I think Yugl posted, but whenever I have it not commented out, I get a C+ error (external to FFXI), and as soon as I hit OK on the error, it bombs out ffxi.
