Motenten says he's working on one, but he also says he's having issues with planning it (No idea what that means since I don't play PLD).
Anyone got a good WAR xml they can point me towards? Trying to help a buddy set up his Spellcast and can't seem to find a particularly good one. Suppose I could always mod Yugl's MNK, but if someone already has and would like to share that'd be great.![]()
I didn't notice yugl published the new mnk+ include xml, wanted to try it out but before I fail horribly at my next ls event got a couple questions:
Excluding from fixing the gear to suit the pieces I have, do I need to set something else? as you might recall I'm a spellcast-derp, so I tend to mess things a lot and couldn't find a quick explanation °_° I went back up to around page 150 and couldn't really find it, also search didn't do much good either....I can't test it out at the moment and I feel I might not even understand everything that is going on "behind the scenes".
I'd like to give an obvious suggestion too but I think it would save a lot of posts like mine or the ones "can anyone post a job xml?" since as I've seen the topic is full of those: why not make the OP, or a single post, or on pastebin, or somewhere a repository with all the common ones used?
It's honestly a nightmare trying to figure out what xml to use lately if you wanna keep cool and updated and you aren't capable like me in doing one yourself(I can fiddle with it a bit but I fail with anything complex).Would be nice to a place a bit less messy where to check all the good stuff, a page with nyghtfire +yugl + motenten + whoever does the other good xmls and keeps them updated with a bit more detailed instructions would be fantastic and save a shitload of useless posts on bg <.<
It would be nice to have it either here on bg or guildwork since most people look there for this...
You shouldn't need to take any extra action beyond filling in the sets. My stance on public spellcast is to make the spellcast as easy to use as possible; specifically, filling in gear sets and being done. Sometimes you need to do a little extra work like setting variables to different values (Like RDM Fast Cast), but I tend to note that stuff. As for your specific request, I was thinking about adding a page to BG-Wiki, but that's a strictly no-3P territory. I could add and pin a thread within the math section since that's where I'm allowed to MOD. Thus far, I've kept all my XMLs within my profile page and soon I'll be directly linking to my pastebin profile once I clean up a few XMLs.
I guess most of the non-automatic gearswaps are done by macros? I'll be honest, I'm really a dumbass in spellcast terms so on some parts I'm lost in the xml, but I guess I'll find out in game how to deal with that stuff. I guess for example reading the xml that doing a macro with raptor mazurka is going to put heralds/hermes on and using it again would remove them? Not referring to the pdt and mdt sets, I know how to put those, I remember I did ask back in time and you provided a nice explanation on how to switch from tp to pdt with simple macros. It's the more complex stuff.
That's what mostly I believe it could have an huge help in having a dedicated text to explain in a single-made post/site/repository/whatever, because the xml is indeed set in a perfect way but sometimes I get lost on what macro-does-what situations.Might be just me being thick as a brick but I guess that always helps adding some extra info on like "This works with shining fantasia macro, and this other does that".I hopefully will figure it out when I get some sleep anyway °_°
edit: to make another example, I didn't at first understand you had to set a macro to set the WS distance, to avoid wasting tp.Those more complex things surely help to have a dedicated even if brief guide D: atleast I think is that way, if I speak nonsense might be because I didn't figure out everything still xDD
Finally got all 12 jobs xmls up and running, tested them all ingame and no problems. Just wanted to say thx to all the help from you guys especially Yugl and Mote. Much abliged guys! Now I just need to implement my gear into all the xmls and I can start having some fun lol.

There's a spellcast user's guide in blue.
i'd think the best way to get around it is just make it like the TP sets Yugl made for his xmls. u just have to create dirrent idle sets like Byrthnoth said: Idle-NoPet-Normal,Idle-NoPet-Town,Idle-Pet-Normal,Idle-Pet-Engaged and use some variable like Netherspikes to cycle through those. i'd even split those into 2 groups: Idle-NoPet ones controlled from 1 ability and Idle-Pet one controlled with another, so if u get in some ohshit situation and u need to change from Pet-Engaged and Pet-Normal u can just hit 1 key and be safe. if u need some example i cna work something after dinner!
oh and that's ofc if u dont want it completely automated. that's what i'm using on my pup for nuke,ws and cure stuff. didnt find anything to did it via spellcast for my pup yet, and still need to work on bst one.
Hey Yugl, were there any updates to the BLU XML v1.1? I searched around and couldn't find

Going to take the leap and look into using this. Currently been using my own xml but I think I've hit a wall on its effectiveness.
thanks.
BLU XMLv2 is out, but that one isn't lagfree (My username has a link). I'll work on the lagfree version in a few days (Upcoming break).
No problem and thanks much appreciated
Okay, debugging was weirdly easy which means I've probably missed something. Regardless, here's what I've got:
Modified status.xml (for Finishing Moves 1~5) - You paste this into "status.xml" in your Windower/Plugins/Resources directory.
DNC XML file - For Spellcast
Autoexec - Added some things at the bottom.
Now, you can either use Yugl's Include that he links, or you can use this slightly bastardized version I made:
Include file - Either way, put it in your Spellcast folder named "Yugl-Include.xml" I just like being able to toggle PDT/MDT sets instead of having to hit a third button to reverse them. I'll probably also relax the distance and TP parts of the return rules for WSs in about 5 minutes.
So that's my current DNC xml. I didn't notice any lag at all in Dynamis - Qufim just now.
I would save it as Byrthnoth-Include so you can freely edit the include without a problem. Having multiple includes isn't an issue if they're labeled properly.
If it ain't Aurore, it costs too much!
Short of making a custom aftercast delay for every single spell, does anyone know of a good way to tackle the problem of aftercast sets equiping too slowly after a spell finishes due to using so much fast-cast gear? It's been getting pretty bad on my Red Mage lately, and I'm finding myself waiting a good 1-2 seconds for my idle set to get switched in after some spells, but I can still start the next spell but then it goes off in a mish-mash of incorrect gear. Casting faster with precast sets is nice and all, but I'd like it to speed up my spellcasting overall and not just take the delay at the end of the spell instead, and I'm fairly certain it's the aftercast delay not matching up with the decreased spellcasting time that fastcast provides.
It's driving me crazy and I can't be the only one who's having this problem. Has anyone found a good solution that isn't just hard-coding aftercast delays for everything?
