    asked this in RQT, and gonna post here since you guys should have the most experience with it:

    been having an error with spellcast,

    i do //load spellcast, then //stoneskin xx, and it:

    brings up Microsoft C++ has been asked to close in an usual way, needs to close, then windower shuts down, any ideas?

    happened 3x in a row in abyssea-misaurex, lv. 83 RDM, not that it should matter much as i'm not casting a new spell?

    Would anyone be able to take a look and see what's wrong with my spellcast? I wrote half of it yesterday (up to the jigs rulesets) and that works fine, when I cast chocobo jig it swaps sets and when I cast spectral jig it does the same but cancels sneak if its already there. For the rest of the rules, they don't work. sambas/waltzes/steps/weaponskills, no sets change at all, and I've gone over the whole file several times but I can't see anything wrong. Help!

    I was wondering if it would be possible to to use the show spell info or something to track blood boon in some way? I was thinking something like have sc read how much mps there are when starting a bp, then afterwards, and subtract that value from the true value of the bp and it would give either 0 (probaly 7 or something maybe based on perp cost) to say like 60 (showing it kicked in and maybe saved 50% of the bp cost). Is this possible at all? And if so, I wouldhave no clue how to go about doing it.

    Spellcast read your entire file at the start of the spell - you couldn't set the variable at aftercast because it would read the value precast then change it to the precast value at aftercast.

    I'll try to explain with a timeline

    Before Cast - You have 1000MP, somehow no perp cost or refresh. Going to use some pact for 100mp.

    Precast - Spellcast reads your entire xml here. You have 1000mp, spell cost is 100mp. These are saved to variables precastMP and LastSpellCost.

    Midcast - Nothing happens that matters to us.

    Aftercast - Wow, blood boon! Pact only used 75mp. Note at this point, checking %MP and %MPCost (or w/e, I made those up but it's something like that) with <var when="aftercast" cmd="setcalc precastMP %MP"/> would still say 1000. %MP is 1000 for the full duration of this read through your xml, but precastMP wouldn't change from whatever you had it set to before the spell to 1000 until now.

    +2seconds - Dummy spell that does nothing is read by spellcast. BoonBonus = (925MP, Current %MP. We're reading through xml again since it's a new spell) + (100MP, saved from the actual pact's read of xml) - (1000MP, again saved from before) = 25MP.
    This *should* work, but I don't have time to test it tonight, I'll see if I can get it to work with conserveMP again tomorrow.

    Oh that makes sense thanks.

    On a side: im successfully avoiding my thesis paper by manually doing bloodboon tests got carby set up for +-0perp and testing with healing ruby2 since its the closest to 100mps, should easily be able to see accurate fractions saved (assuming it acts similarly to conserve mps which is 1/x where x is 2-8 iirc [its been several years since I did anything with conserve mps]) I <3 excell!

    Complete noob to spellcast, trying to set myself up now. If i have various nuking sets in my .xml high resist/normal for example, how do distinguish between those in game for various scenarios?

    In case you had not seen it, these files are no longer useful since Team Windower has updated resources.xml.

    What you have to do is type in the Windower console the command updateresources.

    All your XML files should update to a working version (more complete that the files I generated as a temporary fix) that will also manage new Spells and other features !

    Mine was still having issues with my Bale Burgeonet despite doing //updateresources, but it turns out my plugins and resources folders were marked read-only from a little paranoia of mine after a .Net .dll flusher took out my windower install last time. I should have known actually

    You could use variables that you would set to a specific value by pressing a regular macro.
    You could use the sets depending on the monster name, here's what I do when SAM :
