Valve releases games too slowly to be much higher than that. If it wasn't for Blizzard having WoW I doubt they'd be any where close to #1.

Blizzard also isn't known for their speedy releases. Both companies have essentially the same model of long dev cycle ~> high volume, but the economies of scale are very different.

If it wasn't for Metal Gear, Rockband, Grand Theft Auto, Street Fighter, World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Sonic (lol), etc, then a lot of companies that make those games wouldn't be high up on any list, either.

Konami also has Castlevania, Silent Hill, Contra, Suikoden.

Harmonix has a slightly more limited list, including FreQency, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band, but they have always done beat oriented games, and changed the way that beat oriented games were played.

Capcom also has Megaman Series, Devil May Cry series, Resident Evil series, Capcom vs. Games, Strider, and Breath of Fire.

Rockstar has a huge list of games, most of which aren't notable outside of GTA.

Blizzard has Warcraft series, WoW, Diablo series, and Starcraft.

Square Enix also has Dragon Quest, and owns Eidos as well.

In summary, the games you listed above are just a slice of the pie that these game developers have contributed, the ones you listed are essentially the 'most recognizable' titles each company has. Each of those companies deserves to be high on anyone's list (except maybe rockstar lol)
