Computer trouble- Windows wont load, BIOS doesn't react

A computer of mine currently won't get passed the initial white colored font Windows on a black background(with BIOS options on the bottom), the very first image that comes up when turning it on. It will just sit at that spot. More concerning is that it won't react to my keyboard at all(so I can't enter BIOS). The Power button does this slow blink, fading in and out.

I tried both wireless USB and normal plugged-in keyboard. The only difference is that the latter would light up for a split second while the former was absolutely dead(including the USB plug).

Any help would be appreciated. I imagine this is a hardward issue. I hope my hard drive survives this.

definitely not a keyboard problem since the usb for the wireless wouldn't be initialized until windows is started I would think.

It might be a hard drive problem....

does it sit there for a long long while then boot into windows or is it completely frozen?

How many beeps, if any, does it produce on startup? Also, what's your motherboard?

I had that problem (still have it) that my PC jam at bios window and never boot.

The only way i can resolve to it is to unplug my external USB HDD before booting. even if

and the problem is that the HDD cannot cuz problem to boot cuz 1)it's not in boot loader) 2) it jam,s before it gets to the boot loader

This is called the POST screen. Are you hearing any beeps. make sure your motherboard is hooked up to a PC speaker.

We could use the beep codes with your motherboard's make/model to determine what your motherboard thinks is wrong with it.

    Could be something small too.

Okay, now it works after unplugging it for a day. Honestly I have no idea what the hell.

I did have my (completely fucked up) ipod plugged in on boot the first time I turned it on. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Is this a laptop or a desktop?

if it worked after you unplugged a usb plug then it might be a power issue.

I'm thinking the same thing.. sounds like a weird power issue but I don't think it's the power supply. Maybe a wiring problem someplace, or a faulty power connector? Not sure..

Since it started working again after he had it unplugged for a day, I'm wondering if maybe it's a symptom of a larger problem to come..

i would say the USB device attached cause the problem, like rata said.

there might be a BIOS update to fix this (if it ever happens again).

also, consider looking in the BIOS for a "boot from USB" type of option, it maybe searching ur ipod for something to boot off of.
