Haven't played since pre-BC, few questions.

So I used to raid/farm like crazy pre-BC MC/BWL/AQ20/AQ40/NAXX etc. back in the day before my old guild on Illidan exploded at BC launch (lots of drama issues on downsizing the guild for smaller man raids, yadda, yadda.

My first question is, and I've noticed alot has changed. How hard would it be to get back into WoW endgame. I know I've missed one chapter of WoW (BC) but from what I heard from a few friends that still raid. They say I'm not really missing out and its same old.

Are there attunements/keys such required for raiding endgame? I remember the days when you had to do quests and such just to get into that lair of WoW. I'm guessing its still the same?

Also how does the casual crowd exist now in WoW? I used to be a GM in PvP and when they changed the entire system in 2.0 (I think) for PvP ranking. I gave up then and there just seeing Hunters in full greens at 60 using GM's Claymore with Icy enchants.

Last but not least, I used to have 6-7 lvl.60's across two accounts. But I forgot which class is on what account. Is there anyways I can check without reactivating? I know the armory is one option but you can't use it if the account has been deactivated for so long.

    Thanks!

No attunements or keys any more. And I'll just say right now, if you don't like seeing people in shitty gear with good gear, then don't bother coming back. If you came back it would be for the enjoyment of raiding and downing bosses, doing hard modes, etc. Bads have facerolled through Naxx (which they brought back as an entry-level 25 and 10-man raid), and 2 other raids called Obisdian Sanctum (where you kill Sartharion, big dragon a la Ony) and Eye of Eternity, where you kill Malygos (blue aspect dragon). They just released a new raid, Ulduar, which is pretty cool, but I'm already getting kind of annoyed with it. I cancelled my account, I have a month left on it so I'll dick around till then but right now it just isn't that fun for me. We've downed YS in 25 and 10-man, it's just lame doing the same shit. Maybe we'll try hard modes soon but idk.

Pvp scene, pretty much everyone is a death knight now (new hero class Blizz has been talking about for so long), and they're pretty OP. Ret paladins completely destroy now too (in pvp), and locks/mages and shit can still kill almost anything. Rogues still suck in PVP. It's also kind of gay, with leather/cloth sitting at 16-20k HP, plate at 25k, everything is so bursty that everyone dies pretty fast unless you have a dedicated healer or are ganging up on someone.

Casuals are everywhere, and they whine and whine and blizz caters to them as much as they can. Sorry to say but everyone and their brother is running around in epics, and lots of them still don't break 2k DPS.

The funny thing about this is this guy will come back with shitty gear and have shitty gear levelling up to 80 (as nobody seriously does pre wrath instances/raids), with the odd purple/blue thrown in when he wins something from a PUG, so he will be exactly like the people you are describing him to steer clear of.

I've seen this too much unfortunately, I used to think purples = people knew what they were doing, but a greens DK (no joke, all greens and 1 blue, that I bought for her) was pumping out about 2k dps which is more than a purples DK in my instances that I took them to (was doing a roundtrip) who was barely doing 1600-1700.

I just restarted my account. I quit literally 2 days after BC came out lol. I just rerolled and Blood Elf Mage.
Stats in the game are strange to me yet. They changed spellpower, crits, a lot of talents, etc. I've seen people running around with insane hp and mana. End game, from what I've read, is a lot less hardcore than it was pre-BC.

I don't believe there is a way to check your account/characters without restarting. At least, I couldn't find a way. I almost picked up my 62 shadow priest/60 druid.

The old attunements, I thought, were a good idea. Even though they were annoying, your guild had to be good to get attuned for BT or Hyjal, or even SSC attunement back in the day was hard. So anyways you can lv up easily and hop into 10mans quickly enough.

Ulduar for the most part is pretty fun. Clearing the bosses normally isn't insanely difficult. The bosses in Ulduar have hard modes though. Hard modes actually require skill/brains/good dps & healing. I'm sure it'll be a matter of time before blizz makes the hard modes easier. They pretty much suck casual players' dicks now.
