What was girl power? I didn't get to see it b4 it got taken down
Girl power was a group of females of all races (+ Shiva I think?) taking down a mob.
It got took down? Wow.... hmmm ... someone must've bitched about sexism.![]()
It had too much bloom anyway.
The goobbie (w/e) one is fantastic.
I wondered if they would do that. None of you noticed the DNC's nipples poking out?
I didn't see Girl Power before they took it down... can anyone post it here?
Looks more like the 'nipple' is actually just the frill on the back arm of the DNC AF. If you look at the left arm in the foreground, there's a pink ring that goes around prior to the 2 layers of frills. It just has horribly bad possitioning and could be misconstrued as chilly..
Cake one is made of win.. most original one out of the lot imo, but out of 400 entries a lot of the others look "meh" at best. I mean they are good, but I would expect more
Wow, so SE are even dicks over a fun art contest? That's pretty sad.
Seems like the art got pulled due to the fact he submitted it at last year's contest (which is also the date listed on his Deviant Page submission of March 2, 2008 ), according to his posts on FFXI Wiki.
I was wondering about that entry for a while now since it didn't show up on Deviant's search page within the last month. I call BS on his excuse. PlayOnline specifically states they won't reply or give validation e-mails upon received entries. Regardless if you won. Even I had to contact Square Enix and a GM concerning my award from last year's contest. No e-mail of any sort was sent out. Just because he had one incident where he had rejected entries (which sounds fishy unless he was submitting it literally within an hour of the deadline ), doesn't mean it'll happen again.Originally Posted by Azjazo;

I'd be a dick too if someone resubmitted their entry from last year. Think of other artists that entered this year. We spent a good chunk of our personal time to create original pieces of work, whereas this guy just resubmitted a piece that didn't make it to the top 30 last year. That fact alone makes you wonder who judges this stuff.
Well that both explains why it was taken down and why it looked so damn familiar
Hm... although it's assumed that it's not allowed, none of the submission rules say that he wouldn't be allowed to submit it again. (Though, I agree, it is kind of unfair to just resubmit the same piece over and over again...)
I guess because it becomes SE's property upon submission the first time or something...?
Oh well, that's pretty much what happens to most art when it gets sent to the big companies anyway."We can do whatever we want with it, even take off your signature!"
